This is just a brief guide to getting started with your new character. There is still a lot you must know, but this will get you started to having fun and going in the right direction.

After you have selected your character, you will appear in the Randol 1st level personal dungeon.
You have a choice now of either going through this dungeon or click cancel and you will appear in Randol on the pad.

You first appear in a big room and as you approach the big doors they slowly open. From here, you go down a long hallway killing skeletons and other foes until you are in the next big room. After all the monsters have been vanquished in the hallway and the big room by your deadly weapon, you approach the big doors which open and you appear in the landing pad in Randol. Here is where the fun begins.

You will have an NPC scroll which lists all the NPC's and mobs. You can teleport to any NPC now. When a NPC has an A or Q next to its name, that means Q = Quest and A = where you when you finish quest. Go to Estella or Lorraine and click EVENT to get the treasure chests.

You have to do quests to get gold, extra xp, and skills. You press the letter
M, to get the Randol town map. The Randol town map has the location and names of all the NPC characters you may interact with. What you want to do is to look for a BLUE "Q" which is where you go for your first quest. Now the personal dungeon, located in the south of Randol will have a BLUE "Q" on it, till you reach level 66 at which time it will disappear. If you go in the dungeon and get killed no xp or sp is lost and besides it is a lot of fun when you get bored with everything else.

NOTE: You should play on the 5th or 6th server. There you can get a buff from Elizabeth. It is 200% sp, 200% xp, and 200 added to offense. This way you can sp farm and xp faster. Blessed Iris cost on Sarissa about 2 million gold. They give you 200xp, so you can imagine the money you save. Elizabeth's buff are good till you are level 60 now. There is also the NPC, mid level , to buff people from L60 to L90.

If you look in the top right, locate Healer Yabo for your first quest. When you approach Healer Yabo, you notice that she has a blue glow. So whenever you see someone with this blue glow, you will click the character and talk, to see what quest they have for you. When you ever finish with a quest and go back to the map, a flashing purple "A" will show you where to go to finish the quest and collect your rewards. After you accept the first quest, Healer Yabo is still glowing. Sometimes, you may get more then one quest now. But click and accept quests, until the NPC character is glowing no more. If you reject a quest, then you can not come back later to get it and it is lost to you forever.

Also, if you have a quest and level out of the range of the quest, then it is automatically deleted from your quest list. The quest list is located at the bottom left of your screen. It looks like a scroll. Click this at anytime to see what quest you have to do in case you forget. Remember, to check out the Quest Guide to see when and where your next quest is. The only way I used to get them was by "Accidentally" passing a character with a quest. The game has changed where it is now mandatory that you have to look at the guide, because all of the sp farming and leveling are not close to the characters no more.

birdie birdie birdie...

Up to level 10, if you die you do not lose experience points (xp) or skill points (sp). So starting at level 11, if you die you lose 5% of xp and some sp (usually minimal like 1 sp or so). As you gradually advance later, xp loss goes down to 3%, then down to 2%. Think of it as losing playing time. So how long does it take for you to get that 5% back and hopefully, that may give you incentive NOT to get killed. And at higher levels if you have a lot of sp, you will lose a lot but you will learn to either "bank" the sp or get your skills as you need them.

When you kill a monster, you get xp and sp and you may get gold, armor or weapon drops or an item drop. You can sell the level 5-7 armor weapons and any other drops back to the NPC character. But do not sell tool aids and heaven stones at any time. These you must save for future use. When you get to Level 10, then you are able to go in Merchant Mode to sell stuff.

They now have the trader in which you can now put things in there on consignment. So check it out for your armor and stuff you need. Try to pack rat ALL ITEMS you get. In otherwords, if you do not need gold now, DO NOT SELL. You have to be patience. If you get level 10-20 items you may want to put them in for sale. But BEWARE. The 10 item you will be charged 10,000 gold pieces, not including the 5% fee for selling the item. So No use putting items say for 20,000 gold, as you will end up having only 9,000 gold profit. It is best to go in Merchant Mode. I used to sell my low level items in front of the armor and weapons trader at half of what they would see them for and always sold out. You can also see the items back to the NPC (Non-Playing Character) such as the Weapons Trader or any of the other merchants.

Go to the quiz on Sunday afternoon at about 1:30 PST or California Time. I live in Texas which is 3:30 CST for me. The quiz room is by the west gate just West of Scroll Trader Gerel. Click on the Domain Merchant NPC to enter. Anyway, just follow the crowd for the answers. Also make sure you have at least 5 empty spaces and you are not overweight. I went in one time with about 148% weight and the max is 150%. I could not figure out why i did not get my Heaven Stones. I had come straight to the quiz from merchant Mode and had forgot to put my wares back to the storekeeper. Watch it for scammers who will offer you say a million gold for a Heaven Stone. You might be able to sell it for 2 million but they will not tell you that. Again, go to the Trader to the South of the Animal Trainer and also across from the entrance to the Quiz Room. Check out the prices of stuff and click around so you know how to access the features there.

You can use armor 5 levels above you and use a weapon 4 levels above you. If you are level 5, you could use level 10 gloves. At level 11, you may equip a Level 16 shirt and Level 16 pants. Then at level 12, you can equip a Level 17 helm and Level 17 boots. At level 5, is when you could use a level 9 weapon. You can always equip a higher armor or weapon but you will incur a penalty. Even though in your stats it may show your attack or defense higher, you still have the penalty and not as the stats indicate.

Buy an extra weapon at same level of weapon you have, and then go to transmuter to smelt it. You get two smelting stones when you use a weapon now. If you transmute a piece of armor, you only get one smelting stone. Once you have gotten the first two smelts, then drag one smelt over your weapon. It will fail or you will get a +. Try again, and see what happens. Do this till your weapon is +3. If you go try for +4 and fail, then your weapon is destroyed. You can only use a smelt that is the same level as the weapon or armor that you are trying to upgrade. When you do your try to upgrade armor at low levels, again, try to get the weapon that is equal or greater then the piece of armor you are trying to upgrade. Remember, weapons will get you TWO smelts. If you go to the quiz and get some HS you could sell one and have enough gold to buy the weapons as at level 25 on up, the prices jump up now.

Now if you are lucky, you can get a guardian to powerlevel you to level 20 to get the class event +15 weapon. It is a weapon with the Offense of a level 29 weapon, but you can use it at level 17. Some people level one character to get the class event weapon then get their main character to level 17. Then their main character can use the +15 weapon.

You should join a level 6 guild or up, to get your xp locked so you could sp farm. Also, you will FIRST need to do all the quests you can to get the main crafting skills that you will need. You need these skills to cut herbs and stones for food for your pet. What has changed now is that the L21 weapon is now +15. So it is worth it to get a guardian, even if you have to level yourself. Then at Level 31, you get the free L30-32 +10 armor and TWO L33 +10 weapons.

You can now level at level 28 Instead of Level 29, as i have mentioned before. Reason is that there are way more level 28 mobs then Level 29 Orc Sergeants. Before I had mention to sp farm at Level 29, as that way, you could equip the L33 +10 weapon. Now with the Level 21 Event +15 weapon, it is more powerful then the L33 weapon.

Now the dungeon has changed so that there are more L29 mobs now. With an xp lock, you might get about 200 sp in one hour. Then read the section on sp farming to learn more.

I suggest to start at buying your armor at level 10 as you will advance too fast to really utilize armor at level 5-7. And save a little money too. You are not able to go in Merchant Mode until you reach level 10, if you decide to sell items you find. For the lower level drops, like from level 1-Level 10 you should sell to the NPC character.

GET A GUARDIAN
Before you make level 11, make sure you get a guardian. (With the new guardian system, you can get a guardian, but I do not know the level limit on this). Guardians are supposed to be able to advise you on any problems you may have. Some will help, some will not. I give mine advice, a pet and herbs and stones to feed. But all guardians are different now as to how they help apprentices. You also get a guardian buff now to help on sp or exp now. Anyway, click G, and you see a window with 4 tabs to the left. Click the 3d tab down to get the Action window and you can see the GUARDIAN section. Click it, then the next window click, GUARDIAN RENEWAL and click a guardian listed.

Also if you make level 20 in 10 days WITH a guardian, you get a level 21 event +15 weapon. This is a weapon that has the attack power of the Level 29 weapon. Some guardians will power level you to level 20. That way you get a class event weapon faster. Until you reach Level 50, will the guardian be able to get his repuation points.

When the Guardian gets 200 reputation points, he is able to buy an extreme stone for 100 reputation points. Thereafter, with the base 100 reputation points, everytime the guardian gets 200 reputation points they can get an Extreme Stone. The guardian can also buy reputation armor, but the armor is useless and only good for decoration if anything. To be a Guardian, you have to be level 20 on up. \

Anyone, from level 20 on up can be a Guardian and there are no requirements that they even have to help you either. The same as some low level characters like to start a guild so they can say the are THE GM of a guild, and they may not know anything either to help you or others.

Do not sell your heaven stones or tool aids. People get this idea that you have to have +10 weapons at low levels. If you play the game, you will eventually see that it is futile to waste money on a high plussed weapon if you will not use it that much. Remember how rapidly you made it to Level 10. Well with each level, it will get harder and take longer to level. I suggest you save the heaven stones when you are able to get a level 37 weapon for your first upgraded weapon. Read the section on upgrading weapons to The tool aids you will need to aid you in cutting herbs or mining stones fast, for you to feed your pet. When you get your first tool aid and you have a pet, here is what you should do. Go to Merchant Geres and buy a knife for your class. Rogue can not equip a Knight knife, and the reverse is true. Anyway, go to the Herbal Garden just North of the North Gate. Select the magic bush and equip your knife. Put cursor over bush and click. Select Green Herb and click. Then drag the tool aid icon over the equipped knife. In about 5 seconds, you have 27 green herbs. Otherwise, you may spend two days trying to get 27 herbs.

Getting Started with Your CharacterIf you are wearing level 10-12 armor and say level 13 weapon, you should try to get it to +3. If you have any extra level 10-12 armor, you could use those for smelting purposes. You can also use any drops that you may get also. What you do is to go to the Transmuter, located to the right of the Armor Trader (you can locate on map too.) Just click the Transmuter and drag the armor/weapon icon you wish to transmute to a smelt. The smelted item must be the same level or higher then the item you wish to use the smelt on. Remember what i said before. A weapon gets you two smelts and armor only gets you one smelt.

Now if you have level ll gloves, you may smelt these to get 1 - level 11 smelt. You may use the Level 11 smelt on armor or weapon, level 11 or lower. Smelts have a high failure rate now. Just get your item up to +3. Reason is that if your smelt fails to upgrade to +4 your armor or weapon is ruined or destroyed. You should know that weapon smelted give you TWO smelting stones and armor smelted only gives you one smelting stone. Up to level 25, I found it was cheap enough to buy weapons to use as smelts, so i could have +3 weapon and +3 armor. You can not smelt any item that is upgraded. REMEMBER, I recommend NOT to use smelting stones till you can use weapons at level 9 and armor at level 10, at a minimum.

Note: It is easier to buy tool aids to cut herbs, or mine stone. While you are cutting or mining, then drag the tool aid icon over the implement and PRESTO, 27 herbs or stones are in your inventory. But if you are broke and have to do it the long way, then read the following below.

Well since you are a low level, Level 2 to Level 10, there is not much you can do. But if you can leave your computer all night on, you can cut herbs all night. What you do is to buy one knife for your class. Go to Dratan, out the south gate, until you hit the foothills. There to your right you can see a herbal garden. You cut here on the magic bush. Select RANDOM SELECTION, start cutting, and leave it alone all night. You may read that you get more with random selection. One green herb gives you 5 points, a herb trunk gives you 3 points, and a yellow leaf 1 point, points for feeding your pet. Do not look at quantity but quality. I did both and found i got more points for feeding by cutting green herbs. I tried this once and concluded that in the long run cutting Random was the best option for me. But you find that you may do this for a few nights till you get the hang of the game and start selling your mob drops instead.

Reason you cut here in Dratan, is that in Randal, once in a while it gets crowded. You may mine for stones and get a "too many people mining" notice. This spot here in Dratan is never crowded and to the East of the Dratan Herb garden is a mine if you need to mine stones too. Remember these herb, stone, and energy spots are also safe havens where no monster or person can touch you. So later on, if someone if trying to PK you or you have Mr. Dragon chasing you looking at you for dessert, then these gardens, mines, or energy sites, offer a safe haven.

Remember you can start a character to see what it is like. Then if you do not like it then put all its gold and drops in the storekeeper and try another one. You can make 4 characters now, all the same or different as you chose. There are a 1000 things you still need to do. Like buy a memory scroll to memorize your favorite spot and buy a scroll of recall. So when you are lost in a temple, you use the recall to take you back to town. You can have up to 4 characters now. I tell everyone to start off as a knight to be a pet trainer. Read section on how to make one. That way you can get the basics down before you start a main character. Besides, with a pet trainer made you can level a pet faster too, for yourself or to get extra gold from selling it.

This is something new added for new players and old players alike. The following is the items you get when you make level 31 and level 60.

When you create a new character you get the following in your inventory:

(5) Resurrection Scroll - if you equip this, then when you die you will not lose any xp or sp. Suggest to use this AFTER you finish sp farming.

(5) Platinum Blessed Iris - You get 300% more xp. If you go to Elizabeth, you get 200% xp. Again, use this after you have finished sp farming.

(5) Platinum Super Skill Pill - You get 300% more sp. If you go to Elizabeth, you get 200% xp. Again, use this after you have finished sp farming.

These free items can only be used under Level 35. When you are sp farming and get the gold, try to buy sp restoration scrolls, so if you die then you do not lose sp. These items cannot be traded, dropped, or sold in merchant mode.

Just a note: When you reach Level 31, you get a full set of Level 30 -32 armor, +10. Also, you get 2 - Level 33 +10 weapons. This way you have a weapon for which ever class you change to.

When you reach level 60, you get the Level 60-62 armor set, +5 and 2 - Level 60 +5 weapons

If you skip levels say like making a phoenix, you will not get the free gear now.
