Sometimes even the most experienced players are unaware of all the perks of having a pet or a mount. The new pets, Scrat-chi and It-chi skills and perks are shown in their perspective areas. This is basically only about the dragon and horse pets now.
Pets and
mounts have
skills that will greatly aid your character.
Skills can be obtained from the Animal

Trainer in Randol or Dratan using your pet's technical points. Play around with the skill setup for your pets/
mounts to see how they will best aid your character's class and
skills.
Pets can pick up your drops while you are locked in combat. This is incredibly handy as you may be unable to break from combat to pick up rare drops. Drops will disappear after 5 minutes and unfortunately, there are a few players that "drop steal". That is, if you do not pick up your drop they will. But you have about 30 seconds in which only you can pick up your drop then after that time anyone can pick it up. Using your pet, you can reduce the risk of this happening to you. To use the "Pet Pickup" you will need to click on the icon in your actions menu or equip the icon to a quick slot (recommended). What i do is to put the pet pickup on f1 of the combat bar on all 3 bars now.
Mounts can pick up drops, so be aware of this. Sometimes when picking up the drop the mount freezes and you have to unmount and mount back up again. You get lvl 10
buffs with a lvl 37 horse, a horse doesn't need to go any higher then lvl 37. Getting a mount higher then level 37 or even buying a mount higher then 37 is a waste of time and gold. Unless that higher then 37 mount is being sold cheap now. Now your pet you will want higher then level 37. Reason is if you can make level 60 from pet, then you can max the offensive pet skills, then either use the defensive or magical defensive pet skills, depending on what you are fighting now.
Combining a Mount and a PetYou can have up to two pets/
mounts in your inventory which can be used to your advantage. For instance, say that you have a Knightmare mount, you can buff yourself using the Mount's hauling
skills. After buffing, you would need to dismount the Knightmare in order to take part in combat. You equip your pet and it takes place of the mounted horse. Now you have both the Knightmare buffs and the added armor and/or attack from your unmounted pet. Doing this gives you a great advantage over enemies as you benefit from both the mount and the pet abilities.
Mount Perks
1) Speed Mounts move fast so you are easily able to get to a location in a short amount of time. This also means you can run away from things very quickly as well.
2) Buffs Mount skills are more useful for combat than those of a pet. Knightmares have great party buffs while Dragons have unique AoE breath attacks. Don't forget to use them! Dragons at level 33 have the max dragon buff at that level and Knightmares at level 37 have the max buffs 10/10 at that level.
3) Pet Village Return Mounts have a unique ability that will save you a lot of the running about. "Pet Village Return" can be found in the
actions tab for your character or it can be equipped to a quick slot. This ability allows you to be teleported for free to the town on the current map. Bear in mind that you need to be on the mount to use this skill. I will put my mount on f12 with the village return on f11. Be aware that the mount return in nearly instanteneous while the scroll of return takes time and enough for a monster to get 4 hits in.
4) Pet Resting You can "rest" (sit) while on your mount. "Pet Resting" is also located in the
Actions Tab and is unique to
mounts. When you use the Pet Resting it has the same effect as your character's sit/stand action, speeding up your mana and
health regeneration. If you have the sit/stand icon on your bar and you are mounted you can rest also.
5)Pet Speed Move Found in the
Actions Tab, is the mount equivalent of a character's walk/run action. With the Character Info window, you can now see the movement speed with you on a mount or without mount.
6) Visible in towns Mounts are visible when equipped in a town. Also, in certain spots in town it is possible to have your pet displayed, but the areas are very small. When you go in the arena, your mount or pet is displayed. So beware because it can be killed (sealed) and you will have to pay to unseal the mount or pet.
