The following sections for the Guide provide valuable information. If you got something or see something that needs to be added DO NOT tell me, but do it. Yea, believe me, everyone says I should do this and that, LMAO. Well post what you can. I check every day on what is done and just edit stuff if need be. These notes I add something everyday and reedit stuff now. So this guide is not quite complete. Only up to Level 161. Then by the time I reach lvl165, this section will be complete. 5fingers 20 AUG 10

Mondshine Quests
Mondshine Crafting Guide
Mondshine Armor & Weapons Guide STRATEGY AND TIPS for the Mondshine Player
NOTE: All Mondshine Quests are party quests. So that means the Chapel quests can really get done faster now.
1. When you start your quests, you will have 3 types of quests.
A.
| Daily Quests
| These are the quests that you do once a day. Then at 9pm PST time, the quests are reset and you get to do them again. Remember, if you have a quest from the day before, then at reset, you will not get that quest again.
|
B.
| One Time Quests
| These are quests that you get when you get to a new level. Once you have completed them, then you will not get them again. So at reset, you will only get the daily quests. It is good to know, because if for some reason you are running out of time, you always want to get the daily quests done first. Now do not "Save" the one-time quests. If you save them for the next level, then your xp will go down a little. Same thing when you kill a mob your level and then you level and kill the same mob again. Your xp has gone down.
|
C.
| Repeatable Quests
| These are quests that you can complete them as many times as you want. One of them is the Level 157 Missing Warrior Sword. You have to kill a Black Missionary Pastor to complete this quest. Also, killing the Pastor is part of another quest also. So in a way, you are trying to do 2 quests at once. But if you complete it and turn it in, then you go back and collect it again. TIP: On a non-lag day, I will go and try to complete this quest. One major reason is that the Black Missionary Pastors have EXCELLENT L160x drops now. They are random now, but still excellent. I need to complete this quest 4 times just to make up for the 2% I lost at lvl159 now.
|
Note: Remember to turn in quests when you can. DO NOT SAVE THEM to turn in later at a higher level. You should know that, each level you get less and less % from a quest. The XP is the same, but the % lowers for each level
So after reset, you need to re-log to see all your quests. Suggest to collect quests first. Also, go to guard post and collect the 20 supply boxes too. If you are smart, you will notice that some boxes you can get behind them and mine them, as like hugging the wall, the mobs will not hit you. The best way I found, was to get to the left of the box. After a while, you will get the hang of it, as there is a "No Hit" zone there. Not illegal now as you have to get next to box to mine the boxes. So nothing wrong in getting on one side now
Once you get the 20 boxes, get the torches, 2 of each one at the store.
You are now set. You will go seize the guard. When you finish with this quest, you can do the other of killing the Dreaming Terra. They are outside the camp and bunched up together. This is the best spot, I found, to find them all together. Then when finished you can go straight back and kill the white and black horn mobs. Again, when through just go further south to kill the mobs - Bloddy spirit and polluted spirit mobs. But you may find your own area to kill them in too. This is what i do, but again, do what you feel comfortable FOR YOU.
When you finish, go straight South, to go find the spiders. Everything for the first lvl140 quests seem to be in a straight line back. When you get through with then teleport back, to turn in your quests. At this time you can pick up your torch the guard quest. You finish this quest, teleport back and turn the quest in.
Your next quest is the collect 10 Supply Boxes. Since you already collected the 10 supply boxes, the quest is finished and turn it in. Then the last quest is "Kill Commander Karr." He is located at the Middle of tents below the chapel at the far North East side in the corner. (Check Mondshine Map) You will be looking for "Heretic Commander." You kill him then teleport back to turn the quest in. NOTE: Make sure you have the xpb and spb when you kill Karr, especially at the lower levels. If you have the PBI and PSSP so much the better. Now what I do if I was helping someone kill Karr, I would do this. I would have my log out window out. Then JUST before Karr was dead, I would log out so the person would get the FULL xp and sp for killing Karr. I would use buffs at first to kill Karr, then at the last just regular hits, so i could time it out.
Then the quests of seize the guards, torch, and supply quests, and kill Commander are all repeatable quests now for a 2d time ONLY..
NOTE: Suggest to put on your PBI and PSSP a few minutes late. The reason is that way, you can get the full 100% of your other pots. If you are killing then time is nearly out on your PBI, then you have to leave to turn in what quests you can and your few minutes of pots are wasted. So Time yourself on how long it takes for you to run from town to go to NPC Wigo to turn in the chapel quests. Turn in the sword quest, then to Wigo to turn in the 2 chapel quests now.
Equipping your PBI and PSSP late is feasible at the L161 quests now. I will be in the chapel, quests done, then use the extra few minutes to kill mobs to run the pots down. Then after pots are done, I have time to turn in the quests in. I am not saying you SHOULD do this, but just notice when you get to quests, and barely finishing up. You also have to take in consideration how far it is to turn stuff in too. What this means is you should KNOW the time it takes to turn in your quests with the PBI running.
Here are the different scenarios now, that you can see what I mean.
1. You have done your Chapel quests and sword quests and have plenty of time to teleport back to town, turn in your sword quest, pick it up and run back to Chapel to try and get sword quest again. Remember, suggest to NOT turn in the chapel quests yet, since that cuts in your time now. If you equipped the PBI late, you will have PLENTY of time to turn in later.
2. If you are in a two man party, and you BOTH have all the quests done, and plenty of time. Then one of you leave party, and the person leaving will go to the front of the chapel and the other person will be recalled to town. One turns in Sword quest, picks it up, picks up the other person who had registered, then gets recall to Chapel, and then other person goes to town and gets recall back when he gets done, recalled back to Chapel. Then you both proceed to try to get Sword Quest again.
Remember to TALK to each other when you get the quest. At times, I will have gotten my quest, then tell the other person and then he DECIDES to tell me he got it too a little while ago. Again, using judgement as to the time to return to either do sword quest again or not. If you have like say 2 hours on pots, then suggest to just grind on the mobs there to use up the potion time. Then you plenty of time to teleport back to town and turn in your quests.
|
2. You DO NOT need to sp farm. When you start a quest, have your PBI and PSSP on NOTE: equip PBI and PSSP about a few minutes after other pots are put on. So when pots are finished then you have enough time to turn in quests.). Try to be in solo party for the outside quests if you can. You get a little extra xp, no much but then every little bit helps. At level 158 and 65%, if I take out the sp for the lvl160 skill, I will have about 7100 extra sp. But by the time i reach L165, I should have at least 10k, good for about 4-6 new skills, when the cap is raised.
3. When you get to Mondshine, learn to wheel and deal. Those skills you want, run around 600 million gold, more or less. But if you are smart, have your pet out collecting the gold drops, which a lot do not do. Go to the skeletons to drop hunt. I did as I was bored and at the time, they were just begging me to get their drops, lol.
4. When you get your first Chapel quests, these are good things to know:
a. Mobs do not spawn. So once you clear an area, it stays cleared. Once you leave the Chapel, then the mobs are reset. If someone is in there though and you leave then the Chapel stays the same. Seems all people must leave for Chapel to reset. Exception is if you go to the left teleporter to other floor to do the 3 bosses for your quest. You kill the mobs here and they spawn back like the normal levels. Bosses respawn after 2 hours.
b. When you enter Chapel, if you go straight till you hit a T. To the left at the end is a teleporter that holds a quest to kill the 3 boss mobs now. To the right, is the teleporter for the other quests. The teleporter on the left you will use for one quest only. Now also, between the two teleporters are doors you can go in. You will have a quest for like the clown brotherhood and they are located here.
c. When you take the teleporter to the right to go to the second floor, the floor aisles are like an H (See Figure below). You enter at the bottom left of the H, go straight, take a right at the middle then a right at the T, and then go Down the leg of the H. There is the teleporter to the next level. The stairways are a safe haven now. Below is a so so example. you enter at Point a, run up, take a right, then down to point b, NOTE: What i so when i enter is to run to the right side starting at point a, then when I get to point b side, i run on the left side.
Now THINK. If you run in the middle, you will aggro mobs from both sides of the hall. When I enter at A, I run on the right side, then when i get to the other side, I run on the left side. This way running on the sides, you will not aggro mobs from the other side. Remember, to keep the HP pots going at all times when running.

d. The Missionary quests in the chapel are PARTY QUESTS. So you and your buddies can kill and you all get credit. Also, if your partner is through with the quests, and they are in party with you, then can kill and you get credit too. I was helping someone do the summoners. I was killing Pastors while aggroing them. They killed the summoners and I was getting credit too. WOOT Then I said for them to kill pastors, as I need them for Dark Missionary quest. They killed a pastor and I got credit for the Sword quest. The person does not have the sword quest yet, but i still got credit.
5, You have a daily quest of collecting boxes. In your spare time, go to the camp and collect them. There are 3 camp areas. I start at the lower left one. Trick is to collect the boxes from the left side, far corner. After a while, you will be able to memorize the sweet spot where the mob will not attack you now. I still get hit, but not that much. When i go from box to box I hit my hp pot key, to get hp back if you can. I spend one hour collecting boxes and got 150 boxes. I used the shield pot and the haste pot. The shield pot is a 3 hour pot, so I started my quest on the 2d hour after collecting boxes. Remember "Pot utilization."
6. When you first get there, I highly recommend NOT to get any of the crafting skills stuff. You will eventually get all the armor of your class on drops now. So far I have collected 77 old material purses which is what you need to start at the low end of the armor. Remember, in Randol, the Master of Processor. If you ever made armor, you found that trying to make a black diamond was hard. Not every attempt did you get a black diamond. Same with the old purses. You click them to get the materials and weapons molds. Then you get the materials and HOPEFULLY you can make one of the items you need. So for now, it is futile for anyone to try to make anything as you do not have the purses even to make the basic low level armor. One thing to try to do though. Collect the old purses and SAVE THEM. Then later, if you ever get enough, you can find someone honest to try to make you some lvl145 gloves. You then open them and see if you get lucky and they are b5 evasion or not. But again money wasted to get ANY crafting skills. You find the armor is not that good, and the L135x set is better. Look at my armor comparision.
NOTE: They have the purses for sale in the Item Mall from time to time. 100 old purses cost you 99ap, so you basically need 1000 purses to make one item. The other purses cost slightly more. That is about $10 for 1000 purses.
So when you get the necessary items to craft say a glove you will get a Blue upopened glove . So when you open the glove, as usual, you will get a random selection of either, defensive, evasion, or contituion gloves.
The first two times i got Constituion Rogue gloves then on the 3d attempt, I finally got b5 evasion gloves. Then on the other hand, first time I made Knight gloves, I got b5 evasion with the -10, and the evasion 56 missing, which is not that much. So again, it is random on what you get. Then I will have to make 31 sets of armor in this set to get 31 points. One point for every glove, helmet, or shirt I craft in this section of crafting. So imagine those guys that can craft the L160x armor. They have spent some wicked money and a lot of time to get there. I plan to get there maybe by next year or so.
7. Do not bother making friends with Sio as it is the same theme as reputation points. You make friends with him and you get points for killing, then turn in the charm for more affinity points. By Level 158, I have collect 3 rune pots. With 200 million Million gold now, I could have bought at least 20 rune at the time. But i join everything to find out if it is good or bad. This is definitely a waste of money. Like the Mondshine Armor. It looks good, but upon closer inspection and testing it is not.
FYI, at L163, Oct 2011, I have about 4.9 million points to the next level. When i do get there, supposedly i will be able to buy L14, I believe, minerals. But this will take another year, minimum. Then with all the patches going on, they might change the number down. But again, wait and see.
NOTE by 5fingers: NOTE THIS FIRST. SEP 2011 patch, made it so Silence does not work on Karr or Compra, So disregard the rest. I still have to personally check it out, so take note of this, When i get it verified, then will reedit this part again.
Stragegy tip: Do you know that if you have a mercenary card and the mob has a stun, that it will work on Karr or Compra. First time, I killed Compra, I was wondering why no one got hit. Then figured all the 4 mercenary mobs had stun, and they were practically stunning Compra. How long till this "Feature" lasts, is anyone's guess. Remember, you heard here first. lol
You can solo Karr with a 133+15 weapon adding the PRS to make the weapon +16. The Silence spell from the bear does not work on Karr, so disregard anything I have said on that. I will try to edit all parts referring to this.
What i do is constantly keep my character on the large heal pots and candy as every once in a while Karr hits with some big damage and for when the hp stealers are lagging a little too. You also may need Medicine, or other Healing Pots. When the game is not lagging, i can kill him and using the hp and candy constantly. But I noticed he seemed to be harder to kill the last patch. I had to get medicine to survive now. Also, call a friend to help you. As long as you get in the killing blow you get the credit. One patch seemed to change, making Karr a party quest now. Again, whether this is a bug or not, I do not know, but it works at the moment.
I think at level 144 with PBI and xpb, I got like .22% from Karr now. But if you can kill Karr by yourself, then you could stay all day there and collect that .22% after another. One way to level quick. lol I thought later, I should have done this, but live and learn.
NOTE: When killing Karr have an xpb and spb on, especially if you have the PBI and PSSP on. Now if a friend is helping, then tell them to DC so you can kill Karr at the end. Reason is, so you can get the full credit of killing Karr. So if it is a rogue tell them to snare Karr and DC from game. If they have super haste on, they can run out of range fast enough. Anyway, you both can figure out what to do.
The guard quests are party quests now. So get with your buddy and you can all do them quicker. That way when you both are killing Karr, you both get the credit, PLUS you kill Karr faster.
QUEST TIPS by 5fingers
NOTE: Make sure to have PBI and PSSP on when turning in quests as xp and sp triple. Using the elixirs and other sp stuff is just a waste. Already tried it, and it is the PBI only that makes the points. So if you have a xp scroll or xp elixirs on, you do not get any extra xp and just wasting them too.
| QUEST | with PBI | with PBI,xp scroll | with PBI,xp scroll, and xp elixir |
| Dream Powder Collection | .48% | ,48% | .48% |
| Destroy Terra Egg | .10% | .10% | .10% |
| | | |
NOTE: Did separate quests on same level and notice that you only need the PBI now, contrary to what these other so called "High Players" told me. Again, people play through hearsay and never check it out.
1. When you get the quest to kill the heretics, just go out the gate, turn east, then go to the camp that is on the map, that is to the east. Real easy to kill soldiers and such. Now when you finish the "Seize the Guard" quest, just get on mount, then Pet recall to town real quick.
2. You have to kill White root deer in the White Forest. Well when you go out the gate and about 300 feet, there are deer on the right now. Check your radar, you can kill these now.
3. If you want to find the potions for the quest, they are in the middle of the White Forrest. Look on map and you see a curly tree thing in middle. You mine these off the 5 butterflies there.(Check Map)
4. Now Karr is located at the camp below the Chapel. The chapel is the far right corner. Check my Mondshine map. You see 3 tents below them. One thing is to buff up then try to lure Karr to a desolate spot. You will see heretic guards and such there. Karr will be the one with the title "Heretic Commander" now. I had lag and got killed twice so he is hard to kill now. Full buffs for this bad boy ( I was Level 140 now).. First go find out where he is. Then buff up, then lure him out to a good spot. As soon as he is in range, then use the Stage 1, Level 37+ poly bear to hit him with silence then switch to your pet for their def and offense buff. (Check Map) Make sure to not lure him too far if you are a Rogue, try it and you will see why, lol.
5. Remember the above times for repeat of quests now. Quests reset at 9PM PST. You may have to re-log to be able to see quests also.
6. You have a quest to go set fire to the supplies. Well go and buy the 3 torches , one for each coordinate. Remember, you want to collect materials when you DO NOT have your pots running. Ask around on how to do them quicker, lol. Can not post it here. Seems by Jun 2011, the bug may have been fixed as someone else told me they had to do quests the long way. Of course, I would never do this, cough, cough.
7. After you log on, check your inventory and make sure everything is either sold, put in inventory, or whatever. If you have a Stage 1 poly bear, check to make sure he has the spell buff. If not go to pet NPC and buy one. They last like 2 days. Make sure he is fed and also, make sure that his MP is full too. I went a few times and forgot to buff up on his mp points. ALWAYS double check before you go out, that your pet is alive and not dead. Just make a habit of these and you will always be good to go. WHen your L1 bear thrown the silence spell buff, it does not work the first time. If not, then equip your pet, and takes time to figure out how long the silence spell will regenerate before you can attempt it again.
So for the first time, just ride on your horse with the inventory out and the torches present. When you pass close to the supply box, the torch lights up and which time you click it and then a 1/1 will appear above. There are 3 separate camps now, so it should be easy with a mount to just run by the boxes now. Make sure to check your quest now. It will appear completed, BUT if you only did two of the torches, it will still show completed. Make sure you have THREE 1/1 in the quest box now.
Then after you get the torches lit up. Teleport back to town. Turn the quest in. Then you will get the next quest for supply boxes. But since you have collected 20 supply boxes before you ever started, you can finish the quest on the spot., then time to collect supply boxes.
After you are familiar with this and turn in your quests. When you are through with all your quests, suggest to go back and collect supply boxes. Remember, 20 boxes per quest now. So if you have nothing to do, then collect for the whole week or what ever you want to. If you notice, you can get to certain spots and mine the supply boxes and not get aggro from the mob.
7. The Dreaming Terra and the White Rotted (something) are good for 41k Sp with Sp and PSSP and training spell. I would sp farm this as soon as possible. Look at your skills and you notice a lot more sp is needed for skills too. I good spot for the Dreaming Terra was just outside the East camp. This was the best spot i could find for Dreaming Terra in one spot. Someone asked what they could sp farm on, and I found if you got to go, this is the mob.
8. I found Death Mountain to be good for drops now. The skeletons are tricky now. Just watch it for the healer as it will shoot from far away if you do not watch your hp, it will go down.
9. Make sure you go to the NPC to check for quests, because the Map does not always indicate if there is a quest or not. At 9PM PST, the quests reset and there is no indication on the map for quests. At 9PM sharp, I was able to click an NPC to see the quest there. No quests were noted on the map. If you re-log and come back to Mondshine then the quests appear now. Check the map as the Bluish Q pops up for a quest now.
10. Another thing to save time. When the quests reset, you might want to go and collect the quests. There is one way to the east of the guard camp where you have to torch them. Collect the quests and save you some time. All it is, is a quests to kill spiders. It says sticky swamp spiders, but the last patch is bugged because any spider will do now. I stayed with the swamp spider as the baby swamp spider is less xp and sp now.
11. One of the first things to do, is to go see Walton. He is next to the Craftsman Guild. You have to make friends with him for 200 million gold. DO NOT DO THIS. Getting the first two levels was not bad, and got 3 runes. But the 3d level you need 50 million points. At my rate, I will have these points in 6 years, I have 47 million points to do as of JUL 2011. Good thing i learned that at supposedly 10 million points, i can buy L14 minerals from Walton, so still 7 million more to go, I will verify this is a few years from now, lol.
Once you make friends with him, you are able to turn in the charms of Sio that you find on drops. You also earn affinity points for each kill. When you get 10,000 affinity points, you can receive a RUNE STONE from Walton. Then I read where I will be able to buy Level 14 minerals. But again wait and see.
I thought it was good at first. You collect the charms and turn them in. I had gotten 2 Rune Stones from this. Then if you press J, then scroll down to affinity, then I noticed I needed 50,000,000 points to collect from the next rune stone. Hmmmm, at 100 points a charm, I have about 3.1 million points collected so far. So I will send an RT in and tell them to change this. When I figure out what the rest of the stuff is, I will annotate it here.
SUMMARY:
1. Collect all the quests, 20 supply boxes, and 6 torches.
2. Check to see all pets are alive. Make sure your poly is able to cast Silence spell. The Target arrow you use has a time limit.
3. After you are through with quests turn in icons to Walton. The one who ripped me off to be his friend, LOL.
4. Make sure pets are alive and kicking.
5. If you are in a party, tell the NOOB leader to make a solo. I have waited on S3 a lot of times waiting for a solo, then to find out, they have one going but do not register for some odd reason. Check this out. There was a solo of 2 before they picked me up. I told them that if one is in the chapel and the other DCs, then the guy in the Chapel is sent back to town. Again, I want to level and that means have a solo party registered. But again, I understand that if we are in a party, you may not want to register if other person are doing different quests in Chapel. You may need a reset and other person may not do so at the time.
6. Ask your friends how to do the torch and box quest fast. One little trick, collect boxes ahead of time. Then when you get the box quest, you just take them out and bingo , you box quest is done.
7. Wait and equip your PBI and PSSP after a few minutes. This way you can utilize 100% of your pots and then have time to turn them in. Remember, the quests are what give you your xp and sp now.
