Mondshine Crafting GuideThis is a featured page

NOTE: I am slowly learning how to craft. I can craft L145 weapons and L145-147 armor now. Trying to figure out how to get to next level. Seems I would have to craft 31 items, getting a point per try, to get to L31. If this is so, then be a long time for me to get there as the pouches are rather expensive.

The crafting or making any Mondshine armor or weapons from L145 up is possible. Now remember, that L135x armor is better then Mondshine armor from L146-147. Then some of the higher armor has its advantages as having double evasion as such, and 6th seals you may want. In the game, you will eventually get the L163 - L165 drops for your Class. What crafting does, is enable you to make the gear with double evasion seals and to make Blue armor. Example, you need L145 blue gloves then crafting will do this for you

Again, remember that 70% evasion is the cap.

If you go to the armor and weapon guide, you will see the comparisions of the armor. So if you have a Level 135 gloves +15 versus the L155 +15 gloves, you will see the L135 glove stats are higher. This is acknowledged on the forum too. But the catch is the mondshine armor is ONLY better when you get it to +24 that the defense is better. Later on, I will try to get a spreadsheet by Jaret, that you can plug in numbers and get the defense stats of armor and weapons. Remember one thing, Mondshine armor may show better stats , but ONLY when you equip them can you see the REAL stats as compared to lower armor. Again, a dev bug of some sort as I was told. Also, some L154x armor has double evasion on it which I found out. The level starts at L154 - L156 now.

Anyway, I finally crafted a pair of L145 gloves. I opened them and got a B4 evasive gloves, missing the 5th seal evasion. Then lucky as my 6th seal was -10. I will upgrade with HS and RoP. Then when I get to L163, I may use the gloves there. I think the stats are a few points higher at L163 and for the other armor. But then, the armor has all 6th seals on them. Basically, you might want the Mondshine armor for the 6th seal now.

NOTE: Do not open the Blue, Yellow, or Red purses till you are ready to craft at that level. That is, seems you have to craft 31 items, to get the level 31 skill to craft the Blue purse gear. You can open the other purses, but they take up space and you can not use the materials, until you have the requisite Level to craft gear for that color of purse.

For the armor, there are two certificates. One is the Accurate Certificate for the gloves, armor, and helmet. The other certificate, Fancy Certificate covers the rest of the armor pieces. Sharp Certificate is for the weapons. So 3 certificates. You have to craft 31 items for ANY certificate to advance to the next level of Certificate. I will be with the Accurate Certificate and crafting 31 pieces to advance to the next level of armor. So basically, I will be crafting only gloves, armor, and helmets throughout as i progress. Once I can craft L163 stuff, then I will start at the bottom again, and work my way up crafting stuff.

If you, for example, want to eventually make L165 weapons, you would have to start with the Sharp Certificate and advance from there. So once i get to make L154 gloves and want to make a L157 weapon, I would have to start making lower level weapons first and get the 31 points in the Sharp Certificate to level up in that category. Yea, no going back in fourth. Basically, you have to stick with one section of armor and no mixing of points either.

Runes are also random drops too, like the HS. You use these on items L146 and above now. Again, you use the RoP I and RoP II as you would use the HS. Watch the runes now. One, Purified Rune just gives you a +1 like an HS and the other, Devil's Rune, may give you +1, +2, or +3. Again, make sure to use RoP when upgrading with Runes.

I noted that when I crafted 3 - L145 gloves I got 3 points in the Masterpiece Crafting Level. So I get 1 point in the crafting skills for every gear I make. So to get to Level 31 for the next level, means I must make 31 items for that section. So, once again, LC devs are making it nearly impossible for anyone to craft armor. Just like the sio charms you turn in. Level 3, I will get my next prize at 50 million points. I plan to have these points in about 10 years or so. So, the gloves are in the Masterpiece section with the armor and helm. Then for me to craft those items in the next level, I would need to craft those items till I get L31. Now I can upgrade on Armor, gloves and helm for the next section, and so on. That means if I were to get to the top level, I can not craft weapons nor other gear, because I do not have the correct level for that certificate.

SHORT VERSION of HOW TO CRAFT

1. You go to Mondshine and click on the Chairman of Craftsman Association and pay all fees to get the certificates.

2. You go to the NPC to his left, to get the Crafting Skills that you can get. These will be the Level 1 skills. So pay for all or select the ones that you will craft.

3. You start at the LOWEST level and now Open up the old purses to get the materials. DO NOT open the other purses for materials as you can not do anything. Then you would have to have another toon to store them, So open only old purses for now.

4. Click J to get the Action Window, then on the right side scroll down to Crafting Certificates and click. Then you have a list of materials
that you can now craft. You can get 3 Mithril Stones to make 1 Mithril and etc. Play around with it and you should be able to craft all the materials you can. You will require about 1500 bags, more or less. You will have to decide which Certificate you want to start with. I started with the Accurate Certificate - Shirt, Gloves, and Helm, and will stay with this Certificate till I am able to craft the red purses. Again, remember, you need 31 points in a certificate to advance to the next level now. I

5. Once you have processed the materials. Then close. Press J again, Click Craft, then click Accurate certificate. You can now go down the list and see which piece you want to craft. Now some materials may say like, Materials for NS gloves. Well save them as you might meet somone you has need of NS armor and you both can exchange stuff. Now you look through the certificates and see what gear you wish to craft. Make a note of what you may have to make more materials of.

6. Now every time you craft a pair of armor at this first level, you get 1 point for your certificate. So it seems, you will have to craft 31 pieces of armor to advance to the next level. Once you reach L31, then you can precede with the blue purses. Seems rather weird. From what I can tell so far, There are 4 certificates, for the groups of gear. So unless you have the AP to buy all the purses and time, again suggest what certificate or group of armor or weapons you want to start with.

Here is the catch now. Remember, you need 31 points to advance to the next level to craft. So I will have to craft 31 items in the Accurate Certificate of shirt, gloves, and helm to get 31 points to advance to the next level. Then I will be able to craft the L154-156 shirt, gloves, and helm. Again, I have to craft 31 items of any combination to advance to the next level.

There are 4 class of purses

So, the people who are crafting the 3d level, definitely spent some money to get there. And I salute you, because, it definitely takes time to click and open purses, then the time just to make materials for one piece of armor. Figure just at the first level of gloves, it costs about $10 (US Dollars) to make one item, IF you get lucky. Lots of items like the weapons molds I am not interested in at the moment, but saving for future use. Figure 3 years from now, will eventually be able to craft weapons, LOL.

When you arrive in Mondshine you will Meet this fellow. He is the Chairman of the Crafsman Association and you have to join or register as a member, if you wish to use the craftsman skills.

Now the various Certificates are for the levels of the armor/weapon you wish to make. Purchase those you wish. I just purchased all of them again, to see what they were about.

After you see him, then go see Craftsman Nirl to the right to get the skills to
make the individual weapons.
Chairman NirlCraftsman List

This is Craftsman NIrl. Through her, you will purchase the Skills to make each class of weapons.

If you plan to just make your class of weapon, then you only need to purchase those skills only.

You can only make low level weapons/armor now. As you advance you will be able to make the higher level weapons/armor.

Once you make the item, then you get a magnifying glass and see what you got. That is what i read on the forum. I will have to make an item to find out how it actually goes. Seems the purple armor drops you get are open, except for the Green armor. So as soon as I find out, then I will update this.

HOW TO CRAFT

I start off with the old purses now. I got lucky the first time. Took me 1000 Purses to make Knight gloves, Then 2000 old purses to make Rogue gloves. So depends on the roll when you click. Once you learn how to craft the old purses, then crafting the other purses will be the same procedure. You have left over stuff, and store away for future use now.

This is how to make Gloves. Once you get the hang of it, then making something else is no problem now. This will be for Knight Gloves now. To make an other class, just go to the Accuate Certificate and click the item you want to make and note the materials required.

1. Make sure you have the old purses in your inventory.

2. Put pointer on the old purses and click. You can see in the action window (one above the chat window) what items you get. There are 22 items you will get. Now if you do not plan to make weapons, then you can sell the weapons molds that you get now or save for later. i would suggest to SAVE all the stuff now. Once you get the hang of it, you may decide later to make weapons, who knows. Spend time "Opening" a good 1000 purses at least.

3. You should have already checked the Item list of what you want to craft. Example you need to make Knight gloves then one of the things you need at least 10 Rough Leather items for making the gloves. This means you will need 30 Pieces of Rough Leather to get the Rough Leather, as 3 Pieces of Rough leather = 1 Rough Leather.

4. Press the J key and on the right side scroll down to the CRAFT icon and click it. There you can click the top two items, and see what you need to get:

Accurate Certificate - Helmet, Armor and Gloves
Fancy Certificate - Pants, Boots, Shield, and Wing
Sharp Certificate - Weapons

Note: You have to craft 31 items to advance to next level of crafting for that Certificate. So if you craft 31 items on the Accurate Certificate, then you can not craft the next level of weapons for the Sharp Certificate. Once you start with one set of items, then the points apply to that Certificate only. Points given for crafting are for that Certificate only and no way to transfer points either.

5. If you click the Material Certificate, then click Other, you can again see what it takes to get the materials for your L145x set.
If you click Rough leather it shows you need - 3 Pieces of Rough leather for 1 Rough leather.

6. Once you have gotten all the items, then go to the applicable certificate to craft the armor you want.

7. Once you have clicked and successfully crafted your item, it will be sealed. You just need a Golden Magnifying Glass to open the item up. This is the only way to get the blue armor for the L145 gloves now. L145 gloves are the LAST armor to use heaven stones to upgrade.

Remember, that in my opinion, i think you would make more gold, crafting L145 gloves. In Sarissa, Rogue gloves would see more then the other classes of glove. But it is up to you to what you want to craft.

NOTE: Remember what i mentioned the the L135x set and the L145 gloves are better then the Mondshine Armor. L145 gloves is the last level of armor to use the Heaven Stones to upgrade. Again, you may get certain Mondshine armor as you see fit as they mostly have nice 6th seals on them. So L145 B5 evasion gloves are better then L155 evasion gloves.

You need 31 points to advance to the next level. So if you craft from the accurate Certificate, 2 helmets, 4 shirts, and 5 gloves, then you have 11 points in the Accurate Certificate. You have to get 31 points to be able to craft the next level of items.

That is, you will be able to make the next level of gloves, armor, and gloves once you get the 31 points. You can not make any other armor or items of a higher Certificate. Once you start on the Accurate Certificate then you have to kind of stay with those 3 items. So really you are advancing in the helmet, armor and glove section. Once you reach L31, you can go start to craft the next level of gloves, helmet, and armor (shirts).

So decide ahead of time, which section of armor, you want to advance in. As for me, i will advance in the Accurate Certificate then once i get settled up to the highest levels in the Accurate section of Helmet, armor an Gloves then will start another section of armor.

So from I can see, when I eventually get to where I can craft the L165 x armor of helmet, armor and gloves, in about a good year, by December 2012 at the rate I am going. It does get expensive so i buy a little here and there.

Levels/Pouches:

There are four Crafting Levels:

Crafting L 1 - 31
Crafting L 32 - 61
Crafting L 62 - 91
Crafting L91

From levels 1 to 31 all crafting is done using materials which come from Old Material Purses.
From levels 31 to 60 all crafting is done using materials which come from Blue Pouches.
From levels 61 to 90 all crafting is done using materials which come from Yellow Pouches.
At level 91 all crafting is done using materials which come from Red Pouches.

When leveling your crafting skills you will go through three phases of different success rates for particular levels per each 31 level set. Let's take the levels of 1 through 31 as an example.

From levels 1 - 10 there is a 100% chance you will level up after crafting an item. This is depicted by orange text.
From levels 10 to 21 there is a 75% chance you will level up after crafting an item. This is depicted by yellow text.
From levels 21 - 31 there is a 66% chance you will level up after crafting an item. This is depicted by green text.

How many pouches needed to craft items:

Generally, these are the amounts of pouches / purses required for:
Gloves, Boots or Helmet ~1400-1500
Shirt or Pants ~1600-1700
Weapons ~1500-2000 (Heavily depending on class)

These numbers are given as approximations because the materials you get from the pouches / purses are random when you open them.

Seals on Crafted Armor / Weapons:

Crafted 145 Set - Random Blue (Evasion / Defense / Fortitude)
Crafted 156 Set - Random Blue (Evasion / Defense / Fortitude)
Crafted 165 Set from yellow pouches - Purple 6 Seal Defense
Crafted 165 Set from red pouches - Purple 6 Seal Double Evasion (Similar to Raid armor set seals)
Note: for the Nightshadow armor all seals are purple except for the 145 helmet which is blue (evasion, defense or fortitude).

So to get the Crafting skill, you start with the Opening and making materials from the Old Material Purses. Then once you get to L31, you can start opening the blue pouches. But you have to buy the necessary skills to craft the blue pouch materials. So you can not craft say red or yellow as you will not have enough crafting level to do so.

So NEARLY every time you craft an item from the Old material purse, you get one point. Remember, when you open the purses, you have to buy the material skills to craft them. Blue Pouch items require you to have L31 crafting skill. Again, when you get to level 31, you can purchase the material skills to craft items from the blue pouches. This follows the same for the yellow and then the Red Pouches. So, do not open the other purses till you get the Required Level to craft gear for that level. The materials will take up a lot of space too.

Seems to make L150x armor, seems I might have to craft 31 pieces of armor/weapons. I crafted gloves and got 1 point each. So seems I will have to make 28 more items to get to L31, so I can craft at the next level.

TYPES OF PURSES

There are 4 types of purses to open to get materials for weapons and/or armor - Old Material Purse, Blue Pouch of Material, Yellow Pouch of material, and the Red Pouch of Material.

The items that you get from the purses fall into two categories: Materials and molds. Molds are weapon molds if you plan to craft weapons. If you are Knight and do not plan to craft any other class of weapons, then you can sell them to a NPC. You have to buy the
crafting skill to make each single piece of armor or weapon. Now crafting L 163x armor, this gear will have double evasion compared to what the regular drops are and these are done with the red purses now.. But remember, what people have forgot. Max evasion is at 70%, so i will have to go back to try and remember how to calculate evasion again.

When you are high enough for each purse you can open them. So at Level 140 you can open the Old Material Purse,
but none of the others. I forgot to get the levels for the other purses, but by the time you get high level, you can open anyway.

Old Material Purse contains the following, weapon molds and materials

On armor, even with the hidden def bonus, defense sucks... 135+15 armor from the combo give the highest defense in the game (even 165+15 armor give lest def...), only P6 armor with casting up or double eva are interesting.

For weapon, exept for the 149 g5 (145 g5 are better, or even 133 for some class...), you always get more attack than old weapon thanx to the hidden bonus.
