Suggest to level pet, depending on your level, at the Wafers (about L60s by the Tomb in Dratan), if you can. Do not have your pet fight at the first two levels as you want to level him to L3 as fast as you can. This way, there is a less chance of him dying.

Your Panda can evolve twice over his life time. First, when he is a baby and reaches level 50, and then when he is a Panda and reaches level 50. His final form is that of the majestic Battle Panda!
To evolve your pet take him to the pet trainer and select "Evolution". Drag the pet to the evolution box, click confirm and your pet has evolved.

Once your pet evolves, from L1 to L2, he loses ALL stats, spells and name tags. This applies to evolving to L3 also. So if you have a nametag, wait till he is L3 to give him a name. Also at L3, you can decide where to set stat points for your pet finally. Also, the Panda's skills and buffs are for that level only. They do not accumulate now.
