Bear Pet Guide

The bear can be added also along with the horse/dragon combo, and the itchi/Scratchi combo. So you can now have 6 pets in your inventory.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE BEAR PET

To get the bear pet, you must get the "Polar Bear Collar." You can acquire him thru trading with someone, or spinning the loot wheel for 99ap a spin and see if you get lucky to win the collar. Once you have the Collar, you proceed to Lorraine to get the Bear Quest. Then simply go tothe animal trainer to get your bear pet. The Bear is tradeable, as long as he carries no weapon / armament. The bear is not colorable and stays white throughout his leveling.


Leveling your polar bear pet Evolution

There are 3 stages of development. Your pet poly starts off at Level 1. When you get to level 50, you may EVOLVE (advance) to Level 2. Again, when your pet gets to Level 50, he may go to the animal trainer to EVOLVE (advance) to Level 3.

There is no advantage in the Level 1 stage to go past Level 50. When you evolve your pet bear to the next level, all stats are reset. All attributes start off the same at the Level 2 and Level 3 stage. So at level 1 if you evolve at level 50 or evolve at level 60, at the Level 2 stage, you would both start out the same.

At the first stage of evolution when the bear hits level 50, you may go to the Pet Trainer to evolve the bear to Stage 2. All the stat points are reset. Any name that you had on the bear will disappear. The basic attributes (strength, constitution, dexterity, and intelligience) remain the same though each stage. Again, I mean that Level 2 and Level 3 attributes start off at the same. Some will increase with each level also. You can read further to see what attributes are rasied.

Whereas a player when he levels, his strength may increase 1 point, the bear pet's all remain the same. For each level, you get 9 points to distribute to whatever attribute you wish. Remember, when the bear evolves all these stat points disappear and you start over again.
However, for evolving to Stages Level 2 and Level 3, the attributes will increases slightly.

When you pet bear reaches level 50, Then the following announcement should appear: " Congratulation! Now your Pet can develop. Speak with the animal trainer. Click the Animal trainer, click Evolution and put your pet bear in the window to advance to the next level.

TIPS for leveling at level 1

Now when you go level your baby poly, DO NOT buy attack items. You only need armor items only. Depending on what you level on you would not want your baby poly to HELP you. They get the same xp whether they help you attack a mob or just sit and watch you do your thing. See if the baby pet dies, then you have to stop go to the animal trainer, Unseal, then back to level again. So why have the baby help now. I have as yet not been to level 50 to evolve, but when i do, I will be coming here to update stuff.

Your pet bear will lower your status also as far as drops are concerned. Mobs that are blue to you and never drop nothing will drop with the pet bear. The mobs drop for the lower level pet now.


Specific features of the polar bear
The biggest advantage of the new Pets should be the possibility to let fight him at your place or with you together. Thus he already disposes on the first step of some powerful Skills. To learn this Skills, nevertheless, one of the following books is required:

What does need the polar bear?

What does need the polar bear?
- Health

What happens, if...

... the affection on 0 sinks? The status values sink, nevertheless, the bear fights on. The % of xp your pet gains, is the % of affection you have.
... the health of the bear on 0 sinks? Then he is dead of course! You must revive him at the animal trainer. By the way, the health of the bear cannot be raised by healing skills.
Tip: On Evo1 the maximum values of hunger and affection 150, on Evo2 and Evo3 200 amount.

The status values of the polar bear
The polar bear receives with every Level up status points which one can freely distribute to strength, skill, intelligence and constitution. This is the stats added by a point:
Str: 1.5 attack
dex: 1 accuracy; 0.25 elusiveness
Int: 8 mp, 1 magic resistance
Con: 9 HP, 5 defenses (confirms)
Because the polar bear is still rather weak at the beginning, distributing the points on constitution should be most sensible while leveling. The stats once selected can not be adjusted. Remember at level 1 and level 2, all stats are taken off for the next evolution.

Every time you level your pet bear, he recieves 9 stats points which you can distribute as you seem fit.
