There are at the present 2 types of seals. Blood seals and the color weapon/armor seals. Seals for the level 146 armor and weapons are preset seals.. They cannot use hs or extreme stones, but use Runes instead to upgrade.
BLOOD SEALS for armor To L73 and weapons to L69You can also upgrade weapons and armor with the use of
Blood Seal Gems. These add bonuses to different abilities such as dexterity, evasion, mana, health, defense, etc. A weapon has 5 seals and armor carries 3 seals on them. You may buy the blood seals for 1000 gold from Merchant Geres in Randol, or one of the other merchants in Dratan, and Merac. When the weapon or armor is ready for a seal, in the top box above the chat box to the left, it will announce like "
Your breastplate is ready for a blood seal." Also, if you click the item in your inventory, it will state that the blood seal can be used. The blood seals for each piece of armor or weapon are ready after so many hits at a mob. If you notice some armor gets blood seals faster then other pieces.
If you do not like the seals you get, you may buy the purification gem to wipe off the blood seals and start new. But it only works when you have the 5 seals for armor and 3 seals for a weapon.
Colored Weapons Seals The Level 73 weapons are a new class of weapons. First, you must be the same level to equip it. For example, a level 65 Rogue may equip level 69 daggers. With this new type of weapon, the Rogue would have to be level 73 to equip the level 73 Daggers.
The weapons comes in 4 colors, for weapons level 73 on up, for both classes - White,
Yellow,
Green, and
Blue. White being the least of the daggers and bow and the
Blue Weapons being the highest.
Blue Weapons also have a possibility of carrying a
6th seal. The
6th seal is an additional bonus from being able to use the weapon from 10 levels below to improving critical attacks.
Colored Coded Armor starting from L75
The level 75-77 armor is different from previous armor for all the classes. The first is that while you could equip a piece of armor 5 levels above you, with this new level you must be that level to equip it. For example, at level 65, you can equip the level 70 gloves. But with this new level, you must be level 75 to equip the level 75 gloves. So any armor from level 75 on up, you must be the same level to equip the piece of armor.
The Armor comes in 4 colors - White,
Yellow,
Green, and
Blue, with White being the lowest armor and the Blue being the highest armor.
White Named Armor - Usually sold to NPC. But you could go to transmuter and use for smelts. Only plain armor can be smelted. The level 95-97 armor with white 4 seals, sometimes you can sell in the trader as these levels of armor are extremely rare, as you will find out when you get to that level.
Yellow Named Armor - Sometimes if you get good seals, you can sell these. Shop around to see what else is selling. It used to be you might have used L95x set armor as they were hard to find, but in Oct 2010, that level of armor is now easy to get. So now you can wait for the good stuff.
Green Named Armor - Most of the time with at least 4 seals, it is possible to sell. At high levels like 90x armor, even a 3 green seal can sell. You would want G5 HR weapon versus a B5 Attack weapon. At level 109, I had both types at +16, hitting the same mob. The B5 did about 160 hit points more damage. But I figured with the HR, I would kill faster in an hour's time. Even, if i did not, the weapon is cheaper. If the killing rate was the same, then the % of mobs you could kill in one level would be negligible. The % different is like 0.001%. I used to be like the masses, thinking B5 was the best and now no more. I tested it and found out the facts. Now unless you have a B5 HR weapon, the G5 HR is good enough in my testing. The only reason to get B5 is for the seals. Then most are expensive. At the lower levels, you will not be in the levels long enough to really use them. Besides, the only 6th seal, I think is worth it, is the 30% skill recovery on the cast helm.
Blue Named Armor - Most of the time with at least 4 seals, it is possible to sell. This type of armor carries the 6th seal. A piece of armor may have 4 regular seals, and the 6th seal also. With experience you will find that some 6th seals are overpriced and not really of any help much, as the anti-stun. For fighting the mobs, you will find out that that 30% is not much help. Then even when i got stunned, I just used a potion of escape.
There is armor with the 6th seal, speed armor, but all it does is make you move faster. Technically, no help when fighting except maybe if you had to run away, if anything.
NOTE: If you cover your armor with a melded outfit, you can wear it like normal armor, that is, at 5 levels below. I was told that this is BANNABLE now. But again, I have to post stuff, that is illegal too, so you will know not what to do. I had a pm, from someone that got banned from buying gold. I told him, that no one reads the Aeria fine print when you join the game. So now, I put that gold buying is bannable in the introduction. And if you have +15 armor, you will find that there is no need to do this also. Remember, when you put on armor that is too high for you. You see it on the stats, that your defense has increased, but there is the invisible penalty. That is your defense is not really as high as seen. Seems to me, that this might be the case on putting armor on melded ahead of time. But again, if I ever start a low level character , I might have to figure out how to test it somehow. But for now, just be forewarned.
Try to get the evasion type if you can.
To buy armor, you must be knowledgeable of the seals. For Example, two evasion sets are the same except for the 4th seal. One has evasion 56 and the other has Swiftness of Reflexes 16. Basically, what is good to know that for a knight, it is about 10 points of reflex to equal 1 evasion. So in the long run, you would want to go with the evasion as the 4th seal. Seals are mixed and just a matter of knowing what you want.
Armor and Weapons that you must be the same level starts at Level 75. It jumps to level 85, level 95, level 105, and 115. Be aware of the blood seals. So G4 and Y4 armor have the same stats but just a slight difference on the defense. It is just that the g4 armor can also be found in the G5 also. I used 65 armor and skipped level 70 armor, to save up for the level 75 armor.
NOTE: Be aware of that armor with 6th seals are really not that good now. I have leveled without them but some people figure they have to have 6th seals. For example, there is the anti-stun armor 6 seal, but hate to tell you all, I would have rare use of it. If you notice it only gives you a 30% chance of resistance , it does NOT make you stun proof now. I just have my trusty potion of escape on my combat bar if I ever need it. Like the people with the 6th seal speed boots. Hmmm, all it might do is make you run away from the mob a little faster. I went in the tomb at the same time as this other player. I was trying to figure out how he could out run me, then i remembered he had said he had bought speed boots. But I still barely beat him to the Commanders. So the boots will not help him or me level any faster now. The only seals worth mentioning are the mp and hp recovering seals and the decrease skill cool down seal. If you use a lot of mana it is nice to have a 30% recovery on mana. Then if you can buff HP or MP stealers then no need of these 6th seals. Then with the skill decrease cooldown 30% seal, then you are able to use buffs faster, which is really useful, especially for knights when you will be throwing 3 buffs or more.
Also, suggest not to WASTE your time drop hunting for armor with certain 6th seals. One person spent a month drop hunting, because he HAD TO HAVE this cast up helmet. I told him, that in one month, he could have leveled up to the next level of armor. Only because of his failure to get that piece of armor did he admit that leveling would have been better. I told him to just shop before and after you level and you might get LUCKY and get that cast up helm. That is what i did. Now of course at certain levels, I HAVE to drop hunt. I went and drop hunted for my Level 121 duals. I ended up getting some Y4 duals. The hit damage was about 830 more then my level 109 B5 duals. Now everyone is so focused that you have to have Hit Rate and such. But I just look at the results. In one hour with both, The Level 121 duals acquired more hp% for me then the level 109 duals. I test stuff out. Remember what you think might happen is different from what really happens. So when someone tells you something, bring it to my attention or try it out yourself.
Again, changes have been made. The higher level weapons are now easier to get.
Remember also, THERE IS NO MORE 100% EVASION no more. READ the forum. But for me, I use a mix of MINIMUM of 1 defense and 2 at the most and the rest of the armor is evasion. Think about it. The evasion is at 70% now. So if you get ALL evasion armor, then that means some of the armor is "Not Working" so to speak. If you were to have 100% evasion, then 30% of the evasion is not used. So I figure that one defensive armor, MINIMUM, is more useful. That way when i do get hit, it is with less hit damage now. But do what you want now, but i suggest to have at least 1 defensive armor. One day, I need to go and figure out again, what evasion I have now. They have the formula on the forum, rather complicated but you can figure it out. Once i get it, I will definitely paste it here, then do the figuring on my evasion with the armor I have on so you can see what I mean. So this is one thing, that you may well get all evasion and it may work better then my method. Again, I have to test it out or figure it out. It might be such, that having all evasion is better too.
Another way, I had forget to mention is to have all evasion armor but you would not need any Evasion accessories which would be overkill now. Later on, I will have to get a two same pieces of armor at the same plus and test them for damage on the same mob. Remember, every patch things change so be flexible. Whenever I can do this test, I will post it here and let you all know the results, to see if I am talking smack or what!!!! LOL But again, if you want all evasion go for it. Just remember whichever method you chose, make sure the shirt is always evasive as this is the one with the best defense.
73-133 weapon seals
(from LC wetpaint}
This page contains a list of the seal sets that can be found on level 73, 85, 97, 109, 121, and 133 weapons. The seal sets on close-range melee weapons are listed first, long-range melee weapons second, and magical weapons third. Seals sets are arranged according to color, then name (alphabetical). White is considered the "worst" color and blue is considered the "best" color. The color not only determines the seals that can be found on the weapon, but also the weapon's base attack. Check the
Weapon upgrades section for exact stats.
Not all
identified weapons will have
all the seals that match up with their set color/name. For example, you could get a pair of
Gale' Scrimers with only the first two seals in the set, even though the set includes four seals. Or you could get
a Critical Perion Dual Sword with just one seal, instead of all six that are listed for it. The sets of seals listed here are complete; that is, they are all the possible seals that an equipment piece matching up with the seal set's color/name can have.
Weapons with blue seal sets can -- but do not always -- have a rare 6th seal. The possible 6th seals are shown in the table below.
| Seal | Weapon type it's found on | What it does |
| Suction of life: 5% | All weapon types | 5% of your enemy's health that you damaged in your attack is given to you. For example, if you attack your target and do 1000 HP damage to them, you will absorb 50 HP.
|
| Increase critical hit: 20% | All weapon types | You are given an added 20% chance of making a Critical hit with every attack. |
| Decrease level limit of apparel: -10 or -3 | All weapon types | A weapon with this seal may be used up to 10 levels earlier than you would normally be able to use it. For example, 73 weapons may only be equipped by players level 73+, so a weapon with this seal may be equipped by players level 63+. The same rule is true for level 85 weapons. There are also some level 85 weapons that have a "Error Option 50: -3" seal on them, instead of a -10.
|
| Poison Attack: 4 | Close-range melee weapons | Gives you a chance of poisoning your target with every attack that you make. The poison is a skill called Venom Lv4. When successful, it lasts for 10 seconds and causes -20 HP/sec damage. Poison damage is HP that can not be regenerated by the mob.
|
| Dark Attack: 3 | Long-range melee weapons | Gives you a chance of blinding your target with every attack that you make. When successful the enemy will receive a debuff called Blackness Lv 3, which lasts for 15 seconds.
|
| Suction of mana: 5% | Magical weapons
| You are able to absorb 5% of your enemy's mana. |
Close-range melee -The close-range melee weapons include the Titan sword, Titan axe, Knight sword, Knight dual sword, and Rogue daggers.
NOTE: The names of armor and weapons were changed in Oct 2010 and need to be changed.
