There are different types of skills, all of which have their own strengths and ways of aiding your character.

PERSONAL SKILLS like passive and general skills are class dependent, uniquely tailored for the chosen class of your character. In addition to the general and passive skills open to your character class, a new set of class skills becomes available to characters that choose to study a specialized profession at or after Level 31. Two professions are available at this stage, and the skills are unique to the abilities associated with the chosen profession.

CRAFTING SKILLS are open to all classes and cover more general skills such as alchemy and weapon crafting. These allow any person to acquire a crafting skill of their choice with no penalty to their general or passive skills. Acquiring certain crafting skills, such as armor making, will allow the person to craft his or her own armor and even
make extras to sell for a profit. With the new medium mana manuals out, more people will be acquiring alchemy
skills to make the medium mana potions. Acquiring Level 3 skills on the Flawless Stone Processing, can give you a
double success rate compared to making materials at the Master of Processing..

Is there a skill point cap? Can you unlearn skills and get your points back?

I am level 28 rogue, trying to collect enough sp for the career change. I read that you need 15k points about...maybe more. I do not understand how to calculate my total sp. Will my sp be reset at career change, or only stats? How do I know when I have enough skill points?
