Level 1-10 is fairly easy. You must do the quests to get extra xp and gold. Press W to get the map, then put your pointer over the town and click. You will get the town map. Now you look for any Blue Q on the map. The personal dungeon will have a blue Q until you reach level 66 at which time, you are ineligible to go in the personal dungeon anymore. Anyway, DO YOUR QUESTS, as they give you skills and EXTRA gold. When you go to Lorraine too, you have a treasure section you can open. It tells you at what levels you can do it. You may get, gold, weapons, or candy. I got lucky and got the gold. Remember, do not sell and drops, except the level 1-10 weapons or armor to the NPC.

The drops you get you can sell back to the NPC. You can get healing and mana potions from Merchant Geres. Remember if you die, you do not lose xp or sp, and this is good up to level 10 now.

GETTING A PET - By level 10 you may have gotten a pan flute (horse) or egg (dragon). When you do, a side flashing bubble to the bottom right will flash telling you to go to Lorraine to get your horse or dragon. I tell people to get a horse for a pet, cuz in the long run you will see that is what you will need. You go to Lorraine and then she gives you the flute or egg quest, in which you go to Jajan in Draton, where he gives you the pet. You will need herbs and stones to feed your pet. The herbs feed the top line of your pet and the rocks feed the bottom yellow line of your pet. All you have to do is open inventory, and click the herbs or stones to feed your pet. Remember when the top red line is gone, your pet dies and you go to the animal trainer to UNSEAL YOUR PET. Unseal and revive are the same thing. Now you will see on your dragon for example when it is dead, 17 hours till it can be revived. Well, this is 17 hours of REAL time fighting the monsters. And if you fight for 8 hours and try to unseal your pet, you still pay the full price. No discounts at the animal trainer.

Remember the tool aids I tell everyone not to ever sell. Well, while you are cutting green herb, if you drag the tool aid over the knife, it will give it a boost and in 5 secoods or so , you have 27 herbs. This also works with mining and collecting energy.


Level 10 and Merchant Mode - At this level you are eligi ble to set up Merchant Mode. You can go close to the weapon and armor traders in Randol and sell your drops there cheaper then the merchants there. What you do is to click the armor trade and then find out what he is will ing to buy each piece of armor or weapon for. Get the price, double it, and that is about 75% of what the item sells for.

If you can not get in merchant mode, that is due to: 1. Putting an item in there that can not be sold or traded. Example, putting an item that has a cover on it. 2. Putting an item in that has been sold already. When in mm, you come back and see a empty space, sometimes the item does not disappear from the mm inventory and you can not relist it, since it does not exist.


Level 12 - Now I had put a section out on sp farming on the Sasquatch. Go back and read it if you had not. Hate to repeat everything. Basically, this was the highest point for sp farming as you got 1925 a kill at level 12 and with you in a solo party. Now with the new skills coming out, and know what I know now, I would possible bank my sp. I would get EVERY crafting skill there is for my main character, knowing that when i hit that level 75 or so, i will have the sp for the new skills. Then i just got to figure out how to get a sp reset card.

With the new patch of 3 Jul 08, sp has changed now. A beserk wolf has 3300 sp. When i get up to level 20 I will post results.

Level 18 - Here you will start on the Drakes. Now I suggest to stay on the drakes till level 23. Reason as you will find that they are easy to kill and swarm on you so you do not waste time trying to get the next kill. Now at level 22 the Dark Goddess is 1100 sp and the drakes is lower. Do not look at numbers now as they can fool you. Look at the hit/time ration. In other words, if you were to time your self for 15 minutes you would get more xp/sp from the drakes then the Dark Goddess.

How so?? Well the Dark Goddess is your level at level 22 and can hit you pretty good. Even when you kill one, you have to look around for the next one. Also you may have to recover from the hits too. Now the drakes are easy to kill, you do not have to go far for the next one, and they should not be doing any damage to you now. So therefore, like me, you should be able to stand there 15 minutes with drakes just killing them and actually get more xp and sp then the higher level Dark Goddess.

LEVEL 27 - You need to start figuring out what you will need for class change when you reach level 31. For example, a knight needs to have Level 5 Mana Break to change to either Templar or Royal Knight. Knowing this, you will not be caught unprepared and can start saving sp a few levels before. Ask people around about the class you want to change too if you are not sure of yourself.





MAKING GOLD

DEATH KNIGHT - When you can solo the Death Knight or able to party and kill it, make sure everyone has an idb on. As if you get lucky, you might get a super drop. That is 4 pieces of armor. I like the double HS drop that I got. That has only happened twice and both with the Death Knight. Then at level 76, the drops disappear.

BOGLE, Level 65 - At Level 65, the bogle is one monster easy to make sp, xp, and gold on. What i did was at level 60, I was able to solo the bogle without too much of a problem. I made sure that I was in solo party also. When you can solo a bogle that is when to have your idb and lucky scroll available. If you got an xp scroll that would not hurt to use on it now. Now when you get to level 64, is when i would start using the effort scroll and sp boosters. Now if you are short on boosters or gold, you could wait till you hit Level 65 to get the max of 1100 sp. Like I said, you have to adjust with what gold and stuff you have. You might want to go check out a screaming zombie at the new Tomb at the pyramid. Just met a level 53 player, healer, that was soloing zombies. It took a little time as the player had to hit and run now. I thought it was funny, just continously running around and the zombie chasing the healer.

Anyway, price the stuff you get from the bogles at the NPC. Now if the NPC wants to give you 180k gold, then try to sell it for double. I would sell my stuff on a regular day at 400k. Then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I would have the "300k armor sale." This way, i would not have to sell at the NPC and make double the amount versus selling it back to the NPC. VERY IMPORTANT - Strip your inventory of all unnecessary stuff. Again, because you will get getting armor drops from the bogles and you want to last as long as possible before going back to randol to deposit your stuff and going back again. Remember you can make up to 4 characters, so if you are only running one character then, make two more to act as "mules" or extra storage space. I had 4 characters and at one time I was completely full and had to sell a few things to the NPC. Got rich that way with the 300k sale. I would leave it in mm, and every so often just check and restock the stuff. Made 20 mill gold, one weekend selling. You figure that is about 10 million gold, if I had sold it back to the NPC now.

Well you are playing along slowly learning the game. But here is where you can make extra sp and also catch up on getting the general and passive skills caught up to your level.

First - Make sure you are ALWAYS in a solo party. A "solo party" is where you are in a party, but away from everyone else on the radar screen. This way you are fighting by yourself, BUT you are getting the maximum xp and sp from each monster you kill. If you notice that when you are not in a party, the xp and sp varies from kill to kill. But in a solo party, you will have the exact same xp and sp for each same monster you kill, as this is the maximum xp and sp you can get.

Press G, and then at the bottom click Automatic Party Registration. Then in the next window there are two things you can do. First go to the "Parties recruiting members." Try to get in one of the parties listed. If there are none or you can not get on one, then go to the "Party Member Registration." You have 3 choices for a party: Equal, Precedence, or Combat. For now you want to register Equal Party. Now if there are members registered already, you can click them to see if they want a solo party too. People usually register here when no parties are available waiting for someone else to come along so they can do a solo party with also. If not, just register equal, and then every 10 minutes or solo, check to see if anyone else is on.

So you are at level 12 now, in a solo party, and killing Sasquatches now. This is the last monster with the highest sp you will earn. The following pasted from the LC forum sp guide by Why-not-me @ http://forums.aeriagames.com/viewtopic.php?t=39413

As you can see, the sp gradually goes down. So for a brief space of time, with your main character collect the sp for your general and passive skills while you are at this level. You might be glad later that you maxed out the dungeon skill as that is a lifesaver when you go to the personal dungeon.

Now here is the trick. Make a note of what skills, general and passive, that you need to catch up to your level. Also note, how many sp you get say for every 5% of xp you get from killing the Sasquatch. For a passive skill you may need 20 sp. When you get the 20 sp, you can stop go get it and come back to kill some more. Now when you reach 90%, you should have an ideal of how much sp you get for every 5% of xp. Then you can see how much xp you will get before you can get that sp for your skill. But you do not want to level yet. You time it so you will get say 95% xp or less to get your next skill. Then get your skill so you will have no sp left, and then kill yourself, so you are low enough to get your next skill.

Say for every 5% xp you get 7 sp. (Numbers are made up now and will vary for you). The next skill you need requires25 sp. Then you kill yourself about 4 times. You want to have a 5% lee way too. So at 95% xp, you would kill yourself, 4 times and you might be at 75%. This will enable you to get the 25 sp without leveling. You continue to do this until you are caught up on all your general and passives skill. Some people spend a little extra time here, saving sp for future skills. Go to the Master for your class and you can see what sp you would need.

One reason that you may do this sp farming at Level 12 is that the higher you go the harder it is to gather sp. At level 20, is where the sp max starts at 1100 throughout the game. You can also see the list where lower levels have high sp also. You see at lower levels the monsters are easier to kill than at higher levels. So a time factor is a big part too.

So at Level 12, is one level you can easily get the sp you need and to take advantage of it while you are at it. At certain levels, you will "sp farm" to get certain skills you want. I had to spend a whole week sp farming to get the sp necessary to get level 5 for my Royal knight skill, Triple Bash. Do not get drawn to the "dark side" of power leveling. Everyone wants to go to Eghea, where you can level from level 37 to level 38 in an hour or so. I did it. Seems people want to power level but later on you will have to sp farm to get those skills you may need, sooner or later.

There is one more thing I may add. If you want a pet trainer, go ahead and level him to whatever level you want to pet train. Then have a 3d Knight, and he will stay at level 12 like forever. The 3d knight will just sp farm on Sasquatch till you get ALL your crafting skills that you want. This is something I had never thought about till recently. I was sp farming with my pet trainer when I saw the "light." Have another character stay on the monster with the most sp, Sasquatch. Why I never thought of this before who knows. But wish i had done this earlier. But something for you to look at now.

1. If you are soloing, choose a white name monster. I prefer green name monsters better. The reason green names are better, cuz you can collect the sp and you can make more xp also, without getting killed. Now, not all green names are the same xp and sp, depending on their level now. What you can do is to kill for 10 minutes the same white name and green name monsters and compare the sp and xp. Remember with the white name, you may have to rest to recover hp whereas the green name monster you should not have to do that. I call it the hit/xp time ration. How long does it to take you to hit a monster to get xp or sp from it? Remember, that when you get to higher levels you will be going to Egeha and really level there, so for the first 31 levels do not worry about leveling yet. But some people do not know and want to level yesterday.

2. If you decide to go for the higher levels, try to get one individually. Remember when you break contact because your hit points are too low there are a few things you need to know. First, you will hit the monster and retreat. When you do the monster may get one or possible two more "free hits" at you as you retreat. So if the monster were hitting you for 300 hit points a whack, and then when your hit points get to 1000 hit points, you should decide to retreat then. Remember, this is IF the monster were to hit you twice in a row. Because , if you die, you might lose 5%, 3%, or 2%, depending on your level. Once you start to a point where you lose 2% on dying, you will find it takes a while to make it up. Of course, this does not include demon parties now.

In the demon parties of Egeha, not all parties are good. You have to know when to fold. If you are in a party and the rogue is slow and say you get killed 3 times in a row cause of slow snare or stun, it is time to quit that party. Remember, people will always tell you to stay because they are not the ones dying and losing playing time. Then again, there are good parties where the rogues and knights are competent too.

3. Get in a combat party if you can. These will give you more points then a solo and you get a bonus from the other guy when he kills a monster too. Now here is a little trick. If you are in a combat party and the monster sp is really low or nothing to talk about, then you can do this. If the other person has to go, then tell him that if he can place his character where it will not get hit or die, AND still be in your radar screen, to do so. That way you can get the "extra combat bonus" and the other person also gets a little bonus xp from you too. A win-win situation for both.

New Patch Developments Concerning Evasion

I would like to first say, that the changes to evasion and hit rate are very noticeable. Players with full evasion gear will no longer be invulnerable. The game dynamic has changed so that grouping will become more important at mid to higher levels. Soloing is still possible, but players should definitely expect to be burning through Hp stealers and Healing potions.

Monster difficulty has been lessened. The monsters are now easier to kill and have lower overall attack ratings and hit points. However some monsters have been changed to elite status (watch out in Velpist temple). So their difficulty is on par with what they were before the change.


It is very important that all high level and mid level players understand that this patch will change PVE and PvP. Players are no longer going to be able to train 8 monsters at once.

Now, it is possible that if players are just absolutely getting crushed in the new dungeons, we can see about getting monster aggro turned off. This is a possibility, but if the changes are fully hated game wide, it is an option we can explore.


Overall this patch will bring some excellent new features to our game. But some of the changes are going to take getting used to. I have no doubt that many of you will not like them at first, but I ask that you give them some time.


So here we go.


Evasion/ Hit Rate Changes


(The following descriptions of changes are directly from the developers documentation given to Aeria games, and have only been altered slightly by me...to make them...readable)



Old System of Evasion:

The standard rate of Evasion was calculated

100 - Monster Hit Rate and Character level, class, dex (melee) or int (magic)


Evasion rate was added to by player armor options.

When the dex/int of the character was inadequate the effects gained by the items was way too advanced. (AKA no player should be invulnerable to attacks, at any level)



New System of Evasion

1 Dexterity point = +1 Short,Long Hit Rate

1 Intelligence point = +1 Short, Long Magical Hit Rate

1 Dexterity point = +1 Short, Long range Evasion

18 Short Range Hit Rate points = +1% increase in Short range hit rate

18 Long Distance Hit Rate points = +1% in Long Range hit rate

18 Hit Rate points = 1% hit rate


5 Magic Hit Rate points = 1% magic hit rate



Evasion Changes




11 short range evasion points = 1% Short range evasion

11 long range evasion points = 1% Long range evasion

11 Evasion points = 1% evasion


5 magic evasion points = 1% magic evasion



In combat the hit and evade system will work as follows:


1) A random selection of values from the attackers numerical value of hit, and a random choice of value from the defenders numerical value of evasion will be placed against one another

2) The higher value will determine if a hit is placed

Example: If the total numerical value of evasion for a Rogue is 1000 and the numerical value of hit for a Monster is 300, then at the time of the attack the value of the rogues evasion will be 700.

If the value of Monsters hit rate is 300 then the rogue will evade the monsters attack since 700 (Rogues evasion) > 300 (Monster Hit Rate)




Preemptive questions and answers

Q: GMAracton will armor and weapons be made obsolete by the new patch?

A: No Johnny. While the effects of armor options concerning evasion and hit rate have been lowered, it does not make them obsolete. The more evasion and hit rate you have the higher your percentages will increase.


Q: GMAracton what about the monster aggro in places like the tower? Wont it be hard to level if I get aggrod by 9 monsters at a time, and repeatedly die horrible deaths?

A: Well Johnny thats a fine question. While I will not sit here and pretend that aggro wont be a problem. It is definitely possible to kill monsters faster than before. So if you and Suzy-Jane decide to go into the tower and lay the pwnage down on some baddies you should be okay. As a soloer though I would not expect to wade through 5-8 monsters at once. But you know what they say Johnny, its always better with two people.


Q: GMAracton how will PvP be affected by this change. I have a mage and have been totally owning everyone, because they can't hit me. HAHAHA silly melee classes.


A: Johnny you silly little tart. Mages will no longer be able to pwn uncontended in PvP. The evasion changes make it so that PvP is actually a bit more fun. Skill has definitely become more of a factor, and with the new skills being impervious to merchant potions, it will be interesting to see how everything plays out. PvP will definitely be more fast paced, and it will be interesting to see if some of the former invulnerable top dawgs can hold there own against lower level players that can actually hit them now.


Q: GMAracton, why are you so cool?


A: Because I eat my wheaties Johnny. Also, when I was born my mother smacked me hard in the face so I wouldn't grow up to be a crappy human being.




Monster Changes


Monsters lvl 63 and above have been changed as follows



1) Monster Attack Power and Defensive power has decreased

2) Monster Hit Points, HP Regen have been changed

3) Monsters have GAINED skills such as blind, slow, MP steal, and are generally more nasty in this regard.


Lower Level Drop Rate


1) The lower level drop rate in Velpist Temple and Prokion Temple has been increased to 20%

Updated June 23rd

Currently some of the new skills that have been placed on test have absolutely astronomical Skill Point costs.

As I mentioned in my earlier post we will not let this abide.

So here is what is being done about it.


The skill point costs of all of the new skills will be reduced based upon GM and GS suggestion to the developers.

Currently I have the game sages going through the new skills and giving recommended SP costs for each one.

I believe that this should ease the majority of players that were up in arms about the reported costs of skills, and it will also make the effects of the skills more palatable.


Bottom Line: Skill Point Costs for the new skills will be changed


"But , why can't just just change the skill effects downward?"


My original intention was to increase the effects for each skill. This would have made the cost of each skill bearable since players would have gotten a super powerful attack, or buff for the SP. This was deemed to be not feasible by the developers as changing the effects would take far too much development time, and is a very complicated and frustrating process. We must take into consideration that they have been working on these changes for several months, and to have them change the effects would literally erase all of their hard work (yes they do have feelings, and do occasionally work hard).



Now it is important for you to know the following.


The skill point cost changes will not take place before the patch is put live. They will be implemented after in future patches (sooner rather than later)



The reason for this is that there are legitimate bugs with the current patch that the developers must take the next week to fix before we can put the patch live.



This is good news guys, so all of you out there worried about SP costs for the new skills, can just chill and go back to hating Dratan Castle Siege, the tomb of theos, puppies, orange tang, and GM's.

Here is what we know so far.


1) New skills have been added to the test server.

Issues:

Many of these new skills have a poor SP Cost to Effect ratio.

For example:

Temple Offense Lvl 6 costs 874 Skill Points for only +5 physical attack.

This is horrible, and we know it.


Important Note: While some of the SP costs or the effects of skills will be changed, it is important to remember that the reason the SP costs more is because these skills are for the higher levels. I truly believe there should be some work involved while improving your character. Before you go apepoo however, I also believe that that work should be rewarded with a skill effect that is actually useful, and we will do our best to deliver just that.


What are we doing about it?

A) Currently the Game Sages are testing the crap out of the skills. They are providing detailed information what they feel needs to have there cost reduced, or there effect increased.

B) I have basically told the developers that these skill effects or SP ratios need to be lowered, or the effect increased.

C) The GM's are working very hard to test all skills thoroughly and document the testing on a spreadsheet, so we know exactly what has changed.


2) The Monster Combo System has been added.

A) This monster combo system is a cool group instance that is comprised of various stages. Players actually get to choose what monsters they fight in the dungeon, and they receive tokens for the completion of stages, which can then be turned in for some cool new accessories.

Issues:

1) Some of the accessories given for the system don't have any statistics on them

2) Occasionally (not often) players who fail to complete a stage are sent back to the waiting area, but there is no NPC available to port them back into the dungeon...essentially leaving them trapped forever...


What we are doing about it

A) Both of the above bugs have been documented and will be sent in for fixing next week.


The main issue with this patch is that the developers have added things without telling us. There are many changes we are finding completely by accident because we have not been informed of their existence.

For example:

High level monsters now use skills against players.

While this is a fun and exciting twist on combat, it would have been nice to friggin know that a nivas can now blind you while kicking you in the butt. I found out the hard way...


Now I know you all are wondering about the biggest changes of all. The Evasion, and Hit Rate. Currently we have little information on these changes and are gathering more. As far as I can tell its broken, and this matter has been brought to the dev's attention via a long winded rant by me. Until they fix it, we cannot test it properly. So more than likely you will have to wait until next week to hear about these changes.

Bottom Line: This new patch has many good features which I think players are going to enjoy. Of course there will be some issues, and not everyone will be happy, but if we can get all the major problems with skills , and evasion fixed then I think this patch will add some really awesome end game content, and provide a more enjoyable play experience overall.

Today we received a patch from the developers.

This patch is incredibly vast in scope and includes several changes to Last Chaos game play. Right now we are still sorting through the information given to us by T-Ent, so no details can be given.

However, I will keep you informed over the next few weeks about exactly what is on the patch, and what we are doing in terms of testing it.

We have already organized the Game Sages into a test team, and they will be let loose on this patch tomorrow.


I will say, from what I can tell about this patch from a surface test, is that many of the changes will be good. We will do our best to test the living caca out of it, and with the Game Sages help, will hopefully be able to bring you content that will not make you want to go insane and club a baby seal.

This content includes a new instanced group dungeon (sort of. more info as I get it), and of course additions to skills in game (which have not been tested, so I have no info for you on these yet). It also includes other changes which aren't documented very well, and I will be doing my best to obtain this documentation by the weekend.


Important Note: Please do not ask the game sages about the contents of these patches, as they cannot tell you, and risk being banned from the live server temporarily if they do.

All of your information on this patch will come directly from me.

AFK = Away From Keyboard. In other words, your character is selling or just in town chilling out, while you go watch a movie or go cook yourself a mean, +10 Hamburger before you come back and start killing again.

ap = aerie points. These are points purchased with real money. $1 = 100 ap.

Bot = This term is short for Robot. This is a program which automatically performs one or multiple functions over and over again. For example, a bot is used to describe character who usually stays in one place and just kills anything within its range automatically. The bot kills and then automatically picks up the gold drop. Usually the gold spammers are at work if you ever see one. This is done through an "illegal" micro program. Doing this is a bannable offense in Last Chaos. You can not have any outside source like another program to help or aid you in any way. Bots can sometimes be seen selling stuff usually at a price that is "too good to be true." Again, if you buy something from a bot, it is possible to be temporarily suspended while the "illegal goods" are removed.

Demon Party - When you get high enough, you can go to Egeha and form a party to kill the Bocau Demon. At low character
like a 37 Knight, who can level in about an hour which is possible. Of course, the higher you are, the less % of xp per kill.
gold spammer - These are the people who advertise to sell game gold by going to their site. First it is illegal to buy from them. Second, they are annoying as they will put one message after another and if you are trying to talk to someone you can just forget it. I research these spammers and on the game World of Warcraft, I read how the gold spammers inflated prices to a higher rate trying to force people to buy gold from them to purchase items that they the gold spammers had inflated. In other words, if there were no gold spammers on LC, prices in all the servers might be lower.

Grinding = What else but fighting the monsters.

HH = Happy Hour. Usually two hours, in which a bonus is given from double xp to double sp or any combination. Read the Homepage to see when these occur.

HS or hs = Heaven Stones

idk - i don't know

Kick off = Removing a person from a party or list

lol = Laughing Out Loud. To describe something that is funny or to indicate you are laughing at something.

LSS, lss = Lucky Stones

Mall - Go to the bottom Right of your screen and you see an icon "Shop." Clicking this will bring you to the Mall where you may purchase items with aerie points.

Mob = Usually referring to the monsters. I always thought it meant Monster On Board. lol

Mobbing - Gathering a bunch of monsters together at once. This can be seen usually in the butchers or pilferer areas. One person may gather a bunch of monsters or a big mob to kill or for his party to kill

Monster Swarm - Usually held about an hour or two before Tuesday Maintenance begins. Location is given and monsters are spawned here. If they are killed in a certain time, then treasures appear. I have noticed that treasures seem to appear anyway.

nvm - never mind

Swarming = Same thing as mobbing. Again, you have a swarm or group of monsters that you gather to kill.

Solo - No this is not to describe Hans Solo now. When you are in any kind of party but you are fighting separately, then you a are in a "solo" party.

Smelts - These are stones that are received when you transmute a weapon or a piece of armor at the Transmutor. Short for smelting stone.

Teatime - This is similar to Happy Hour, but happens every Sunday. It usually is 2 - 2 hour periods or may be a block 4 hour period in which various bonuses are given. Watch it because sometimes they start early and sometimes they go over the time limit, which no one ever minds if they do, expecially if it is a double xp event.

This Q will remain here, until you reach level 66, at which time you can no long go in the dungeon. The Dungeon Keeper of Roland, will have a blue glow around him at all times, until you reach level 66. Now he will still be glowing even if you do not have a ticket. It just means that you are eligible to go in, but only if level and ticket requirements are met

For the Levels 2, 3, and 4, you will need personal dungeon tickets to adventure in them. You get these thru drops or from buying from other players. Going in the dungeon is for ONE person only and it is fun as you have to fight and figure your way to beat the mobs there. As always, strategy guide tips are placed to help you along your merry way. Also, did you know if you have a Red Name, that going to the Personal Dungeon in a PvP server will help rid of those evil points. Once the evil points reach 9, then you name turns white.
