Need tips for pet training?
Jul 16 2008, 12:23 AM EDT
Ok, I have found the fool-proof way of leveling a pet that doesn't allow you to make a character to a certain level. First of all, store a drake egg or pan's flute into your warehouse, this ensures that you can level a new pet if you wish to. Second, Create a healer, this is so that you can heal yourself without spending the expense of potions.. Third, hatch the pet and equip. Fourth, gather the best armor you can wear and buy the bow that is just 2 levels under the highest level you can use. Second to last, use your stat points in CON and DEX so that you can kill without being majorly damaged. Finally, go find PASSIVE yellow or red names that you know you can kill WITHOUT using specials, buffs, or debuffs. the pet training equation is that for every three shots of a bow you use, your pet get 1xp. Tip: At level 20 with the highest armor you can wear and a light bow, a pet can get any wear from 48-60xp.If this info is used correctly, it can only take 3 hours to level a lv 1 hatchling into a lv 17 drake. 14 out of 34 found this valuable. One more thing to add, use the sp from your pet to increase defence ONLY!

Nice idea though. But the fact remains, in my opinion, is that with my pet trainer, i already have the level and armor kinks worked out. Also, At level 20, when your pet gets to around level 25, your AFK is reduced. The purpose of my level 28 pet trainer is to have MAX pet training. I had a level 23 pet trainer and when the pet got to around level 30, I had to feed often. But if your way works and you are satisfied go for it. I have also found too that a knight takes 4 hits to get a pet point and I think it was the mage only 3 swings. I had asked this friend of mine when we were training together and he told me. Reason I had asked him was because he looked like he was hitting slow. I appeared to him slow too. lol Now some people try to train pets on their main character but to me is a waste of time. With a main pet trainer handy, you already know what to do. But again, to each their own. Your concept is interesting, but to me too many loopholes in it. The idea i try to convey is to get a pet trainer that you can leave on training while you are asleep and that requires that you should have a pet trainer who can give you good AFK time. 1 out of 4 found this valuable. I recently found (just after I posted this) that my healer set up was lucky enough to let me not damage a drake at all and a drake can't harm me, it was my sorta pet trainer and main character built into one.

Well that is cool. The purpose of having a character for pet training only is that you have done all the ground work. You have the armor and you know what you can train on. You can have a main character to pet train anytime now. But then how many times have I read people complaining that their mob died too fast and so fourth. Again, the purpose of a pet trainer is that you can pet train ANYTIME you want cuz you have already worked out all the kinks out and to get the max afk time that you can. I know cuz i tried to pet train on my main one day and I wasted a lot of time trying to get the armor configuration right and trying to figure out what to pet train on. Then everytime you level, you will not necessarily be able to train on the same mob all the time either. But some people do not realize this and do not understand the theory of pet training. Some people never realize that they can get a second character started either. I know cuz when I first started out on LC, I was like everyone else and took me about 7 months till I realized that the 4 characters that you can make all share the same storekeeper. That was important info that I try to tell everyone. But live and learn and then do what you want. lol Did you vote for the site yet?????????????????2 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

I plan out everthing I do on Last Chaos, and when I'm not on the computer, I usually pet train now. This way I don't have to switch characters, I just say I'm tired, go to a solitude drake and train my pet for howeverlong I need to. But, I have found a flaw in the AFK pet training concept. It's the fact that you cannot have an auto feeder for your pet when It starves, therefore you only have until your pet starts starving to train it. So if your pet starts starving after 90 minutes, then you have to feed it to the max at least every 90 minutes, or else face being dissapointed that your pet didn't level up or gain enough exp.

Right. That is why you want a level for MAX afk time. Maybe i should have said the max time you can go without feeding your pet. That is why i have a level 20 pet trainer and level 28 trainer too. Just pass them off. I might have to go and revise the AFK and state the time to be away without feeding your pet. Sometimes, I know too much. lol A experienced trainer will understand but i need to revise so the newbie will understand. But good point to bring up, which i have stated but just in a different manner. lol

There is no "Fast Way" to speed pet train, contrary to popular beliefs. lol But if you pet train for money, train a horse now. They sell for more. Also, when you gett to Eghea you will find out that there is no place for a mounted dragon. On the average, at about level 40, you want to have a level 37 horse mount. The pet can be either drake or horse. I prefer a drake for looks now. Sell your pink drake, when you can. Cuz with experience, at the higher levels you find that dragons are useless. So try to sell it at a low level to people "Who don't know yet", lol. Like I tell people. When was the last time you ever saw someone on a dragon in combat in Eheha. Never. That is on the same note has having a party of level 60 players with +15 armor trying to kill a Level 100 Gold Dragon. Only in your dreams. lol I tell people you have to read then you also have to get the experience to realize what I am saying. Some follow my advice, and some don't. But if you do what i have said, then later on you will realize it was the right thing to do. I only speak of things with experience so you don't screw up like I did. lol

Ok well i am totally new to this type of game so this is all new to me. I just started about1 week ago and have a level 17 night at the moment. I currently have a lvl 5 horse. I have read about this pet trainner and am a little confused. So to do this i need to make a new character and get him up to lvl 27 or so before i can use him as a pet trainer? Also once i do that how do you get your character to fight while your not at the computer? Like i said i am new to all this and at 38yrs old sometimes its hard to teach a old dog new tricks lol. Anyways all the help you can give will be greatly appreciated

Well wigmund, i am 57, so you young whipper snapper needs some advice, huh, lmao. 1. You will have a main character that you will fight and level with. 2. You make a 2d character to be your pet trainer. Now here is the catch. I suggest to get him to like level 28 to get the most AFK (Away From Keyboard) time. This means that you can get the most time away from the computer before you have to feed your pet. You have to constantly feed your pet, but the max time is around 8 hours. The pet starves and he does not get any pet xp. The 2d catch is that you will get sp from the character and you use it to get a crafting skill. I would suggest to get the Armor making skills maxed first. Then the extra sp, you will have to figure out how much you have and if you can get another crafting skill, if possible. 3. This is tricky now. I went and got a 3d character and made him a level 20 pet trainer. Then when the pet reaches level 23 or 24 then hand him off to the other pet trainer. You have to know someone that you can trust to help you change pets over. That is one good reason to join a guild for. 4. Then the 4th, I made mine a knight and he is at level 12 FOREVER, sp farming on the sasquatches till he gets ALL the crafting skills maxed. Now the skills for mining, cutting herbs , and collecting energy are not made cuz after you get high level, you will buy the tool aids to get the leaves, stones, or energy if you needed them. 5. Then you could make a 2d account and just have that one for pet training and getting your skills. Then it would leave your primary account to play with the other 3 characters if you wanted to.
