Collector character
Aug 12 2008, 10:21 AM EDT I'm new to the game bu it looks like a good strategy would be to create a character only for collection, mastering the collecting skill, and save the valuable skill points of the main character for battle skills. 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Collector character
Aug 12 2008, 1:45 PM EDT Yea, you are definitely new. Read to the left and scroll down to the STRATEGY GUIDE section and read all the stuff there. Now on the SP farming, there are two levels to do it at now. After they patched the new Dratan map a couple of weeks back, then sp farming was changed, so you could sp at level 23 now, which is a lot better then level 12 as far as time and sp. But what is said as you are trying to say, is to have a secondary character collecting sp to get the necessary crafting skills and then have the main character to having to concentrate his sp on his general and special skills. Yea, someone done thought of that already, lol. If you do master the crafting skills, when then the collecting energy, mining stones, and cutting herbs, are the LAST (useless) skills you would get. Not really worth the time to get them, cuz at higher level you will find it is cheaper, and faster to sell an item to buy an item booster to get the herbs, stones, or energy you need real fast. You get these on drops now. When you get one, then go cut herbs, for example, drag the booster icon over the knife and , presto, instant 27 herbs. Works with mining or collecting to. Also, another strategy is to ALSO when you get to level 23 to have your main, get sp on ALL crafting skills. This is what you call "banking your sp." Then later on when you get to level 60, you can buy or acquire a skill reset card and get all the sp back that you had in these crafting skills to use for the new skills you might need then. You can not carry too much sp around, cuz when you die, you lose a % of xp and sp. And losing sp, if you had say 1000 saved up on you would take a BIG loss. Just take my word on it. Anyway, read the strategy guide. If there are not too many questions and I am in a good mode, i can answer the newbie questions in depth now. The other people can do there own homework, lol. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Collector character
Aug 17 2008, 9:21 PM EDT Just an addition for now but the SP in the Velpist Temple in Randol is 3300 sp for the monster your level and 5500 in the Prokion Temple in Dratan now. This is due to the big patch a while ago. I still have to figure out if the jail is the same too. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Collector character
Aug 20 2008, 3:00 AM EDT Mastering the collection skill is pretty much useless as stated above. It is such a waste because collection is such a slow process anyway, on top of that armor/ weapon smithing is a very underused method of obtaining items anyway. Do you find this valuable? |
