Pets in my way

I was recently in the Tombs fighting commanders and there was a mage that pked me since I was in "her spot" as she put it. I used a res scroll, healed up, buffed up and headed back to avenge myself. Upon seeing me the mage summoned her drake on top of her. When I targeted her I just ran over and started chopping on the pet and she rocked my world again. A similar situation occured in the arena with an archer. In both situations I was aware that the pet had been targeted but could not avoid targeting the pet to get at my true adversary.On the same note I was in the same place the next day doing the same thing and someone came in with pk on, I summoned my drake on top of me, thinking I would be harder to target, and the person came right over and kicked my ass no problem. Which leads me to believe one of two things. A) there is an option you can set to not target pets or B) knights are too fat to hide behind a drake like a little petite archer or mage can. So which is it? Do you find this valuable?

Hmm, basically you have to have the pet right on you. If you are a little off then they can target you now. So gets some friend to practice where your pet needs to be. Yea, there are assholes in the game that can just pk to take a spot, but aeria has made all that legal. Also, tht might be a problem too, Your character icon is big enough so that the pet can not hide you like a petite archer now. Never gave that much notice now. Later on, I will have to check on that for myself. I know how to put the pet on me now and find out if maybe it is true that the knight icon is big enough that you can target him. Nice info to know too. Remember, read my Pking rules now. I have a jillion xp restoration scrolls so if someone pks me, i can resurrect on the spot. I do not lose xp or sp, but saves me the trouble of running back to the spot. This way i can resurrect on the spot. If I die then i have to go to the starting spot. I am just leveling for now. That way when i max the level in a few months, then PAY BACK time. I got a few names that i intend to PK till next week. I get a red name but then i can sell a blue name. I just have them kill me and with resurrection scroll on I do not lose xp or sp anyway. What i do is PK them, then relog to lose aggro, then come back and wait for them to turn the PK on, then i can get them a red name, lol. So make a folder on your desktop with name, date, and what they did. Then when your time comes, you can tell them "Come to Pappa now!!!" LOL Do you find this valuable? |

I figured using the summon pet command put the pet right on you. I guess that isn't right though. I'll have to practice up so I can start to be the dick coming in to claim my spot. Then hide behind my dragon when they call in reinforcements. lolI have a mental list of all the people that have done wrong by me. I can honestly say not one person has made it onto my KOS list yet. Well ok maybe a few but not many at all. I do remember the people that annoyed me but I am not moved to slaughter them quite yet. I must truly be an easy going person or something. It is aggravating yes but it is still just a game and if I get a little cranky I just take off and go hang out at a friend's house rather than get riled up over some pixels. Besides I think the knight is one of the weaker classes to duel with. I am in a rush to get to 100 so I can unlock my rogue and get her up there kicking some asses. Maybe when I have a decent level rogue then I'll make a KOS list and start being a little more unruly. I mean really all I need to do to get someone out of the tomb is call in my guildmates. Most everyone in there is more than happy to come help if I need it. I'd rather not cry wolf if the problem is something I can handle though. I'm not saying that my guild rules all and no other can match their ability but we tend to stick together and kick ass. You should see the response when another guild claims the arena as their own. I'm sure you have. It would be no different in the tombs I'm sure. lol Do you find this valuable? |

I've figured it out!!! It has nothing to do with character icon size. It has everything to do with camera angle. I prefer to play from an isometric point of view so that I can see the entire battlefield clearly. However therein lies the problem. The drake floats high atop the character icon and when you try to intiate battle it automatically selects the pet instead of the character. If you lower the camera to ground level you can aim low and select the person to which you are trying to kill. This is tried and true I tested it myself after seeing someone kill a person that I was just pet locked on.I was in arena same as usual gettin my face all dirty from a few run-ins with an archer. Bound and determined to figure this out I had a thought about camera angle and adjusted it to ground level almost to the point where you are looking slightly upward. Wham bam!!! That healer didn't score another kill on me the reminder of the time I was in the arena. It may seem like a minor thing to get excited about but I am stoked. Now that I have figured out what my problem was I am now passing the information on to whomever may read this so that they don't look like a total noob that likes to play with pets rather than collect scalps in the arena. :) Do you find this valuable? |

Oh, Oh, might have to take a couple of woots back, LMAO. I was in Tomb and still had same problem targeting, Next time I will try again, then if nothing, then guess that info will not be posted.

Try lowering the camera further. I know what you are talking about. In some situations you need to almost be looking upwards. Not the best camera angle but it brings the characters name out in front of the pets. I think I may have to take screenshots to show you what I mean. Try again in the meantime. It works! that is how I can kill people in the arena that do that stuff. In the meantime rescinding "triple woot!!" lol have a nice day. Oh by the way I hit 100 : )

congratz on the level 100 and when you hit level 120 then you get the Congraz (capital c) lol. Read what Rascaliooni has that i dont have my site up to date. LOL If he read the intro and stuff, i state it is not up to date. People gripe and never want to help. Like I told him, this is a hobby not a job. lolWell when i get time after i level , I will go in the tomb and target people there and see what i can do. Maybe it takes practice now to get the THEORY of how it is done. Right now, i am at 58% and want to make 114 by monday, then i am out of commanders, then i can relax and go check the targeting thing again. Do you find this valuable? |

Yeah man anyone that gives you shit for not having the most up to date info is an asshole. Especially when you state that same thing yourself. When you are running the site by yourself it is a ton of information to update. Not only that but it is ever changing. I for one appreciate the hard work you've done in getting this much up and how you explain why one thing is better than another. Congratz with a capital C and and A for effort in getting this much to us. I would offer my help but I would just change everything so that it states how awesome I am. lmao

Well you may be right man. I am guessing I was just getting lucky. The last few days I have been pet locking again in duels. My tip was working until just yesterday. I was outside westgate and for the life of me could not target this ranger that just kept picking me off. I am baffled as my little trick was working this whole time until last night. I don't think I am doing anything different but something has changed I can't place what exactly though.

So would you change everythng so that it states how awesome you are , after or before I PK you and have a weekend BBQ featuring bufflalo wings and horse nuggets, ROFL.It does not bother me. Most of the time they are little punk kids for all I know. But then again, I have run into some people that get bent out of shape saying they are 25 , blah, blah, blah, lol. FYI, SmokeyDawn can PK and LM anytime she wants, and twice on Sunday, LOL. I am still working on the low angle thing though. If it worked once, then it should work again. FYI, did anything change after the patch. I noticed at the commanders after one patch it seem harder (or my imagination) to hug the wall. Remember my infamous words, "Be flexible." Things work one week then the next week not. Do you find this valuable? |

That is what I am saying! It worked before and now it is bugging me that it isn't anymore. It was much easier than aiming for that single pixel of hair. I guess I am going to have to start practicing that again. It may or may not have been from the patch. Heck if they are going to patch anything about pets they should make them untargetable. It'd be much easier. Then the pet hiders would have a fit. lolAlright I get it man! You are more awesome than me. I see your name on the top list of knights and mine is nowhere near it. I didn't do enough sp farming when I was little so now I am stuck on zonbies. Currently I dont have enough to get the first level of the 102 skill so I will be there for a while. Gotta make up for lack of foresight and too many deaths while I was leveling without res scrolls. Do you find this valuable? |
