AFK Pet Training
Aug 31 2010, 9:32 AM EDT
20-30 minutes, thats what you call AFK on treants, hmm okay for you. But my lvl 29 healer, I leave her alone at 8:00 pm and check back in the morning and she is still hacking away, and pet is not starving yet, but once pet gets to lvl 28 and above, then I have to check back between every 2-3 hours and feed pet.Overnight pet leveling, now thats what I call AFK! Things change now. But basically, if the pet is your level, or one above or one below , that is the max time now for afk training. Then the further up it goes then the afk training gets shorter. That is, if you are Level 29 and your pet is 29 you will get max afk training, but once it goes to say L33, then you will notice the shortened time now.The have changed so many things now, that I kind of gave up now. LOL Like I used to be able to pet train in the jail. Then one major change and all of a sudden even with better armor, i could not train there no more. It takes a lot of time to find the right combination to pet train. Aeria will change the mobs defense and offense and even xp points and not tell no one. You have to kind of figure out yourself. Now in the "Good, Ole days" if the pet was below you, you could get some decent pet training done at the treants. But now, forget it. When i get to level 165, then I will be able to spend time and figure out what to do on pet training again. lol Do you find this valuable? |

Big Secret when pet training and your mob is dying too soon, equip yourself with a production tool and your hit rate gets real slow, this fixed a problem I had with 2 different pet trainers.

Another place you can pet train is the 8th floor of the Lust Trum Tower in Egeha. If your toon is lower level, you have to have a high level friend get up there first and you may have to pay him/her back the 800k it costs to get in, but then you can use a teleport book to go to him (make sure you're on the same server of course). Once you're up there, you're golden for at least 8 hours, (pending disconnects, server maintenance time outs from your isp, etc). Toons with close range weapons have a little bit more of a challenge as they have to stand behind or very close beside the Stone Statues so as not to be effected by the fire breathing. However, Temple Knights have a special skill that allows them to move the statues so standing behind would not be quite so treacherous. The Stone Statue room has two corridors. One contains Sheid Lich's and Sheid Weavers at both ends that will follow you into the "safe" corridor if you get within their range, so stay away from there. Once they pick you up, you're done. You can't run, and you can't hide. Sometimes you will have a jerk that will bait a sheid weaver through the hallway to the safe side deliberately. There's really nothing you can do about that. Some players just live their life to be mean to others. By the way, should it happen that your pet's starvation goes to zero, he won't die and you won't have to take him to the pet trainer to be unsealed. He doesn't gain exp, but he doesn't die. Just feed him stones and keep going. He'll start to gain exp as soon as you feed him. I've been through all of this on multiple occasion. For me, if it can go wrong, it has gone wrong, so I know what I'm talking about. The higher level your pet gets, the longer it takes to gain levels of course, but if you're away from your computer anyway, it's still a win/win situation. Using PPEP or PEP is a huge help too.

I presume you meant Temple Knights with the skill to teleport objects. Good info here, but again depends on what you want to do. Once you can find the mob outstide to pet train on, it will be a lot easier to train on it and less expensive. But this is another alternative to, to pet training. Do you find this valuable? |

Fixed the error. Thanks for the heads up. By the way, just a tip, and not sure if it happens to anyone else, but each time I have tried to start shooting the Stone Statue before my pet is completely equipped, (the glow completely disappears), the game has locked up. Normally this would not be a problem, but with it being a bit cost prohibitive to enter Egeha, (especially for newbies), it can be a real problem. Especially if you're dependant on someone else getting you up there.

Hmmm, not sure about that. You might have the same thing happen to me. At Random times, the FIRST MOB i hit, the game locks up. Then when i relog and come back in the dungeon it is ok, Might be what is happening to you. This is a bug, they have been trying to resolve, I guess. lolBesides, still think it is better to pet train outside, but you have to find the mob to do it on now. That way, you do not have to go to all the trouble of training at the statues now. Besides, think of it this way. Finding a mob to train on the outside, you can just go straight to it, and in less the time and money then trying to go to the statues. But like I tell everyone, you do what you want, I just suggest. lol Do you find this valuable? |
